How can companies working in regulated industries balance speed and quality in translation? Getting content to market quickly without sacrificing accuracy can be a real challenge.     Here’s how technology paired with human expertise, can help: ✅ Machine translation with post-editing (MTPE): MT handles the bulk of translations, while trained linguists review and refine the output for accuracy and compliance.     ✅ Domain-specific terminology: Combine MT with specialized glossaries to ensure technical terms are translated accurately and consistently across documents.  ✅ Quality assurance workflows: Use multiple rounds of review on   MT-translated content to guarantee that translations align with regulatory standards and meet the highest quality benchmarks.  Curious about how this works in practice? Contact us to learn more about ULG’s AI Translation Pilot and see how MT can optimize both speed and quality in your workflow.  #LifeSciences #AI #Translation

Healthcare payers and providers, are you prepared for the new HHS Section 1557 requirements? They strengthen and reinstate protections from discrimination in any health program or activity receiving federal funding.      The new rule mandates:       ✅ The use of only qualified translators and interpreters to prevent miscommunications and adverse health outcomes.      ✅ Telehealth accessibility to make sure telehealth systems are accessible to individuals with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency.       ✅ Review of machine-translated text by a qualified human translator to ensure accuracy, especially for complex or technical materials.      ✅ Proving information in alternative formats such as large print, Braille, and audio for more effective communication with individuals with disabilities.      These changes took effect on July 5, 2024, and you’ve got six months from that date  to designate 1557 coordinators and a year to develop policies, procedures, and notices of available language assistance.      🔔 Our team at ULG is here to help you navigate these new requirements. Follow us for updates or contact us today for support in implementing your healthcare communications strategy.      #Healthcare #LanguageAccess #Accessibility

Had a great time in Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon, last week where AI and the future of work was front and center in driving innovation and transformation across different industries. The conversations this year focused on how AI is reshaping the way we think and drive innovation through strategic partnerships unlocking new opportunities to scale and innovate. In the context of AI I was particularly inspired by a Keynote delivered by the CEO of SurveyMonkey Eric Johnson “Smarter Questions, Smarter Results” who managed to convince me that in the age of AI crafting good questions is more important than ever. I am excited to bring these learnings to United Language Group and explore how partnerships, smart questions and AI-powered strategies can make a real impact! #WebSummit2024 #AI #StrategicPartnerships #Localization

To translate your materials accurately and on-brand, linguists need to understand your brand. Our unique linguist engagement program, ULGEngage, gives you the quality benefits of an in-house linguist team trained on your brand and the scale benefits of a language service provider. That means: ✔️ Optimized budget spend without trading costs for quality. ✔️ Stronger connections with consumers, since the linguists understand your brand’s core messages and can convey them in a culturally relevant way. ✔️ Consistency across translators when multiple linguists work on your projects.
