In #Gaza, more than 547,200 children under the age of ten received their polio vaccine by the third day of the ongoing campaign. This accounts for 90% of the goal, with each passing day being a step closer to stopping the spread and saving young lives. Rapidly repairing sewage, water and sanitation systems is also crucial to contain diseases. But, for all life-saving humanitarian efforts to continue at a meaningful scale, the ceasefire must hold. 🔊 Hear from our colleague on the ground. ⤵️

More than 307 million people around the world need humanitarian aid. "We're in a moment internationally, when the narrative is that the world is in retreat from humanitarian action. But we're here in Riyadh to say that we're not in retreat," stresses Tom Fletcher at the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum. "We will coordinate as one movement for those we serve." #RIHF

Twice every year, the United Nations' Emergency Fund allocates US $100 million to chronically underfunded crises, with an additional US $10 million dedicated to climate-smart humanitarian action. Not because the headlines say so but because it’s the right thing to do. #InvestInHumanity

Water scarcity across #Gaza amid shattered critical infrastructure is dire, putting lives at grave risk — particularly hospital patients. Humanitarian partners are working to urgently restore desalination systems at vital medical facilities to ensure a steady daily supply of clean water for drinking, sterilization or other procedures, and even to provide to nearby communities. This is crucial to save lives and support health-care providers on the front lines, but to be able to sustain relief efforts, the ceasefire must be upheld and additional funding is required.
