  • 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 💙 Through our work with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service (GDVS) and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), we have the privilege of helping enable veterans and their families to seamlessly access the resources they need. But some of the most meaningful moments happen when we step beyond strategy into direct impact. Last week, we joined Amanda Campbell, 𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲, 𝐆𝐚, in her incredible 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 initiative. Together with her Student Veteran Organization (SVO), we delivered 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡-𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 to veterans in care facilities—reminding them that they are seen, appreciated, and loved. A simple act of kindness can brighten someone’s day, but for many veterans, it means even more. Research shows that 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝟏 𝐢𝐧 𝟒 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬, making initiatives like this not just thoughtful but essential (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, 2020). For Allison Kelly, whose husband and family members have served, this effort was deeply personal: "If my loved ones were receiving services in a health facility, I would be so appreciative to know that they were in someone’s thoughts on Valentine’s Day (or any day alike)." For Kayla Woodberry, whose father is a veteran, it was a moment to turn gratitude into action: "Any opportunity I have to show my tangible support is always appreciated. Making Valentine’s Day cards for local veterans allowed me to remind over ninety individuals that someone is thinking about them today and always." 💙This is what community looks like. To all veterans: We see you. We appreciate you. And we will continue to show up for you. 💌 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲! 💌 #UniteUs #ValentinesForVeterans #VeteranSupport #CommunityMatters

  • This Valentine’s season, we’re celebrating what truly brings us together—𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. ♥️ We know that community is built not just through our work but through the relationships we nurture every day. So, we asked our team to share the threads of humanity that connect us—🐶 pets, 🎨 hobbies, ⭐ milestones, and more. 🎬 The result? A heartwarming, cinematic tapestry of our community. Today, we’re excited to share those moments with you! 💙 This video is a reflection of our unity, our mission, and the incredible people who make it all possible. Take a moment to watch, celebrate, and feel the impact of the bonds we share. Together, we are Unite Us. 💙 Happy Valentine’s Day! #WeAreUniteUs #ValentinesDay

  • This week, we recognize the groundbreaking contributions of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐄𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐡 🔬—𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭 & 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫. As the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭, she revolutionized cataract treatment with the 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞, a device that restored sight to millions. 👁️✨ Beyond her invention, Dr. Bath was a champion of "𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲," advocating for equitable eye care in underserved communities. 🌍💙 Her invention and advocacy laid the groundwork for tele-ophthalmology and surgical innovations in vision care. #BlackHistoryMonth #HealthEquity #UniteUs

  • February is 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡—a time to raise awareness about reducing cancer risks, early detection, and supporting those impacted. But prevention is only part of the story—when cancer enters someone’s life, having the right 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 support is just as critical as medical care. 💙 That’s where Imerman Angels makes an impact. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 has to navigate cancer alone. Through 𝐨𝐧𝐞-𝐨𝐧-𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭, they connect 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬 with mentors who have been in their shoes, offering 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. At Unite Us, we believe in 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. Our partnership with Imerman Angels makes it easier for those affected by cancer to access 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭. By streamlining the referral process, we’re ensuring that more people get connected with the 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. 📖 Beyond mentorship, Imerman Angels continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of the cancer community—from 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 to their 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 offering vital information and support. 💙 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, 𝐥𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.
