What is it like to install a weather station in one of the most dangerous places in the world? What is it like to float down the Amazon River to collect data in the jungle, with no idea whether your boat will be there when you come back? Nevada State Climatologist Baker Perry and Associate Professor Julie Loisel were interviewed about their experiences conducting research in extreme environments, from the tallest mountains in the world to tangled mangrove jungles. Podcast host Ali Dickson is a student in the Hitchcock Project for Visualizing Science at the Reynolds School of Journalism and asked the professors about their experiences collecting valuable data that serve as clues to understanding Earth's climate.
