NASA 2025 SBIR Subtopic Pre-Release & AMA: December 9-13, 2024 To help research institutions prepare for the upcoming 2025 SBIR/STTR Solicitations, NASA will hold a series of Ask Me Anything webinars the week of December 9, 2024, to introduce the research subtopics and help firms prepare to submit a Phase I proposal. These webinars will include live Q&As with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This will be an opportunity to not only hear the perspective of NASA SMEs but also ask them questions about the research subtopics, which will be released to the public December 2. The Solicitations are anticipated to open January 2025. The AMAs are being organized according to the 2024 NASA Technology Taxonomy. Once the subtopics for the 2025 SBIR/STTR Phase I solicitations are released on December 2, we will update this page with the subtopics that correspond to each Taxonomy Area (TX). Carol Mitton, director of grant administration, retired this month after 20 years of working in the UNO Office of Research. When asked to describe Carol Mitton's capabilities, her co-workers repeatedly used words like "almighty," "perfect," and "the definition of outstanding." Her expertise in accounting, auditing, reporting, and post-award research administration may well be unmatched. Her peerless dedication to quality and accuracy helped keep UNO compliant while she consistently secured revenue for the university through quarterly and even monthly invoices of external sponsors. Bing Leng has been promoted to serve as our new Director of Grant Administration. Bing will oversee all post-award grant administration, replacing her stated long-time mentor Carol Mitton. If you have any questions related to grants accounting, please contact Bing Leng at bleng@uno.edu.
