About us
Built by the founders of Vega Factor and authors of Primed to Perform, Factor is an AI-based organizational operating system that automates leadership by transforming how organizations align, motivate, and grow. Unlike traditional AI tools that rely on people prompting AI, Factor flips the script: Factor is AI that prompts people. Today’s organizational operating systems rely on memos and meetings, consuming a day per week for leaders. Factor eliminates this inefficiency with six core AI-powered capabilities: 1. Facilitating effective meetings. Running a well-structured, high-impact meeting requires rapid ideation and synthesis. Humans can’t manage this consistently, even with agendas. Factor can. 2. Synthesizing org-wide context. Organizations generate overwhelming amounts of operational content daily—far too much for humans to parse before meetings. Humans can’t keep up. Factor can. 3. Tailoring communication. Motivating colleagues requires personalizing interactions to their skills, personality, and goals. Humans can’t tailor communications in real time at scale. Factor can. 4. Documenting efficiently. Weekly reporting and documentation tasks consume hours of valuable time. Humans can’t document and communicate progress efficiently. Factor can. 5. Visualizing work product. Processing operating system outputs like knowledge, ideas, and plans is difficult when presented as text. Humans can’t quickly visualize this information. Factor can. 6. Creating accountability. Tracking progress across teams without micromanaging is challenging, especially in hybrid work environments. Humans can’t maintain transparency without intrusive oversight. Factor can. As one CEO said, "It's terrifying I ever ran my company without Factor." Factor turns complexity into simplicity, freeing leaders to focus on growth and innovation.

Is your job going to be taken by an AI that can’t count the right number of R’s in strawberry and draws hands with 7 fingers? Maybe… But organizations are going to wake up to the error of their ways quickly and painfully if they start slashing jobs indiscriminately. Every CEO has two options right now: 1. They can go through rounds of layoffs, replace people with bots, and then watch as technology underperforms without human guidance to the detriment of their company’s bottom line... OR 2. Leaders can augment their existing workforce's capabilities by leveraging AI to create a limitless toolkit. Changing with the times doesn’t mean acting hastily, it means taking the best of the technology available and applying it to the best resources you have. Yes, some displacement will happen, but the opportunity here is making employees more creative and more adaptable. See our latest article for tips on how to HR can empower employees using AI.

Companies will die without AI transformation, but companies who implement wholesale layoffs and then patch it all over with ChatGPT etc. are just going to decline more slowly. What do I mean? If you think you’ve just hit the cost-savings lottery, you need to consider the limitations of AI alone, versus a person using AI to achieve their full potential. One gets you a picture of a person with six fingers; the other gets you six versions of a great idea in the time it takes to order a pizza. This is a no-brainer. Do you have any wild and/or unique predictions about AI adoption?
The two most important topics for every HR leader's agenda

Don't force great individual contributors to be leaders if they don't want to be. Organizations make this mistake all the time. Leaders are scarce, so they promote their highest performers to lead teams, hopefully creating higher performance overall. Unfortunately, this rarely works, as the skills that make someone a great individual contributor don't necessarily make them a great leader. But there are a few key techniques organizations can use to make great ICs into highly effective leaders. Read our latest article for our top 3 tips. Where have you seen IC-to-leadership transitions go wrong? Where have you seen them go right? And what makes the difference?
Is everyone fit to be a leader?

Thank you Tim Mikhelashvili and Alloutcoach for a great conversation!
Author of Primed To Perform, Co-founder of Factor.AI and Vega Factor, Human capital and human performance expert
What sets apart the highest performers from everyone else? We find that the best performing customer reps are problem solvers. The best performing salespeople are problem solvers. The best performing software engineers are problem solvers. The best performing product managers are... you guessed it: problem solvers. Great problem solving distinguishes the high performers in virtually every role in an organization. So, the most important driver of your growth is problem solving. It is the driver of adaptability. It is the reason why you need a motivated workforce. And it just so happens to be the biggest skill gap in the workforce today. So when your organization talks about measurement, it's critical to measure motivation and the velocity of problem solving. Furthermore, it's essential to develop your colleagues' problem solving skills as part of their everyday work. I recently sat down with Tim Mikhelashvili of Alloutcoach to discuss this and much more, including my journey from quiet quitting software engineer to obsessively motivated entrepreneur. Thank you, Tim, for a great conversation! Listen here: https://lnkd.in/evcnuHMF #Podcast #HumanPerformance #Motivation #Leadership #ProblemSolving #Velocity #HighPerforming

Our clients often ask us: "Okay, I get it. Motivation is the key to increasing adaptive behaviors and balancing adaptive and tactical work. But how does it impact performance, and where do I begin?" Here are three simple, easy-to-implement quarterly routines you can begin today for high-performing organizations: Goal Check: Teams align on what problems they are solving for the next quarter. 🎯 Health Check: Teams take a pulse check on how they feel about the upcoming work and create tangible action items to work better as a team. 💗 Skill Check: Individuals identify which skills they need to learn or improve to accomplish their upcoming work and, with their leaders, create a plan to develop these skills. 🏋️ If you’re passionate about leading transformative change and inspiring your team, listen to Lindsay's conversation with Will Bachman from @unleashed. Tune in and discover how you can drive incredible results and create a thriving workplace! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gM4ENwNv And if you want to kickstart these three quarterly rhythms, you can implement them using Factor, the AI co-pilot for leaders. https://www.factor.ai/ What improvements are you making on your team as we head into the second half of the year? What can aspirational leaders learn from Formula 1 racers? "The pit stop enables fast execution." F1 drivers can only go so fast because they take the time to stop, refuel, and repair along the way - all with the help of their team. Not only that, but the pit stop teammates review footage of their races over and over so that they can shave off fractions of a second and hyper-optimize. The lesson is simple: leaders and their teams must take time for "pit stops" - moments of reflection to refuel, repair, and re-energize so that they can get back in the race. We recommend just three quarterly routines to make this super impactful: 1) GOAL CHECKS - Breaking down complex goals into concrete, motivating challenges 2) SKILL CHECKS - Picking the right skills to develop for the work ahead 3) HEALTH CHECKS - Measuring motivation and picking habits to improve Learn more about these three routines and how to unlock your team's highest performance in this episode from Climb by VSC Ventures (see below). I absolutely loved this conversation! Over the past few days, Wells Fargo has been in the news for another round of questionable behavior. This time, the issue allegedly involves employees faking work by simulating keyboard or mouse activity. Bloomberg reported that Wells Fargo discovered and fired more than 12 employees for engaging in the “impression of active work.” First of all, if companies fired people for the "impression of active work," teams with large meeting cultures would have to fire everyone. But in all seriousness, Wells Fargo discovered that employees were using tools like mouse jigglers to attempt to thwart their monitoring systems. The endgame of slacking isn't better spyware, it's better leadership. Let's dig into this incident to unpack why employees "slack off", why control tactics fall short, and what to do instead. What are your reflections on this Wells Fargo news? Do you have any tips for keeping remote workers motivated and on-task?
Should Wells Fargo have fired employees who were simulating keyboard activity?
