Honored to present at the 51st VEITH meeting as part of the Management of Pulmonary Embolism symposium with colleagues and friends Dr. Michael Jaff, Dr. Kenny Rosenfield and Dr. Mark Davies. It has been nearly a decade since Michael and Kenny published the first description of the multidisciplinary Massachusetts General Hospital pulmonary embolism response team (PERT). Congratulations to Professor Anton Sidawy, the 2024–2025 President-Elect of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). It was a pleasure to meet and celebrate this achievement with Prof. Sidawy during the Veith Symposium at the Hilton New York in Manhattan. Prof. Sidawy’s contributions to vascular surgery and medical education, particularly as a professor at George Washington University, have had a profound impact on the field and the lives of countless patients and students. This moment marks a significant milestone in his distinguished career, and it was an honor to share this occasion alongside him. Prof. Sidawy’s leadership and vision will undoubtedly guide the ACS into a new era of innovation and excellence in surgical practice and education.
