  • The Fyre festival received a lot of heat🔥 Pun definitely intended. We're here to give you a non-hater OBJECTIVE view and get the lessons from it. When a lot of their partners and the media have hidden behind their initial failed journalism, we'll look at the positives and take the learnings from their excellent deck. Let's dive in 🏊♂️ Listen, they did it right. Fyre are advertising and branding geniuses - I mean look at the deck it is SO APPEALING. It has been a while since a deck did not bore me. The Logo, the sleekness of it, i'm excited! and captured my attention on slide 1. Straight to the point and the investors is already 80-90% aware of what the product actually is. The Problem is clear, and those in the industry have been aware of these pain points, and those that haven't, well live under a rock. Strong stuff here. By the third slide the investors knows EXACTLY what Fyre is. Something 99% of startups have consistently failed at, instead wasting time with buzzwords. Slide 4. gives credibility, hey if Queen Latifah & Lil Wayne are in the roster, sign me up. Slide 5. Stakeholders. Stakeholders. Stakeholders. Usually takes startups 30 minutes into the first call for an investor to really understand who the stakeholders are. STRONG. Slide 6. Business Model is clear; Who pays is clear; Done. and as Ariana Grande says Thank you. Next. On to the next slide Slide 7. The Why are we raising this round? We've explained why you should believe in our vision, now, the vision we have. GOOD This is where this whole thing gets interesting, The founders seem to have it figured out. The location, the capacity, the date, the headliners. Its all there and then CREDIBILITY again, the influencers, from Kendall's now 289M followers to 63 other influencers with over 1B total followers. They were aggressive, investors love it. And the media, ohhhh the media loved them before they put their tail between their legs, the likes of Vogue, ELLE Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Esquire magazine and the rest of the bunch. The rest of the slides jump into Traction (Fantastic), Pending Partnerships (Fantastic), Location (Amazing), The raise, clear and to the point. And finally end it on the Founders and team with all of them having the right background to pull this off. This deck is one to follow closely. Though a deck will get you though the door, execution is everything. And unfortunately although I fan-boy'ed over the deck the result, well, is where due diligence is important, and unfortunately, like 99% of startups have no idea how to build a deck, the investors don't do their DD. ➡️ Any other VC research papers you would like to share? let me know 👇🏼 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more VC Jobs, insights, newsletters and everything in between like, share, follow to support the page ♥️ #VC #VCJobs #PE #Tech #startups #SaaS #VentureCapital #Fundraising
