Updates

  • Welcome to our brand evolution. While Verbal+Visual has been around for 15+ years, we’ve gone through a number of iterations during that time. Coming into 2024, following such huge market fluctuations during Covid, it felt like a fresh beginning, and a moment in time that we wanted to capture in our refined brand and path forward. With that, we started the year with a verbal exploration of all things V+V. Who are we, what do we stand for, and why are we so passionate about the work that we do. [Read more with our link in the comments] Note: This post would be incomplete without mentioning the herculean efforts of the team leading this rebrand: Liya Sorby Erin Caroline Jacinte James Anshey who worked tirelessly to get this right.

  • This year, the Verbal+Visual portfolio saw strong results during the biggest shopping weekend of the year: 🔹 Black Friday: +15% average sales increase compared to 2023 🔹 Cyber Monday: +4% average sales increase compared to 2023 While Black Friday remained a key driver of growth, Cyber Monday showed a more modest lift, reflecting a growing trend we're seeing across ecommerce: the sales period is expanding. Many brands started their promotions earlier than ever, pulling forward demand and creating a longer, more distributed holiday shopping season. This shift challenges the traditional spike of Cyber Monday while offering opportunities to build sustained engagement throughout November. 💡 Takeaway: Brands that adapt to this extended holiday sales timeline and craft strategies for sustained engagement are poised to capture market share and build stronger customer relationships. How are you planning to evolve your holiday strategies in 2025? Let’s chat! 🎯

  • This fall, Verbal+Visual and Shopify hosted Commerce That Converts, a panel of ecommerce and branding experts sharing actionable insights on building lasting, emotionally resonant brands that also drive measurable growth. Key takeaways include: - The evolution of ecommerce: rising costs, complex customer journeys, and the need to stand out. - The power of brand identity: a clear purpose and authentic storytelling that connects deeply. - Balancing high-touch, non-scalable experiences with scalable tech and tools like Nosto and Yotpo If you're looking to sharpen your ecommerce strategy and fuel growth that lasts, read the event recap here: https://lnkd.in/eyjGnzxA Thanks to our panelists: Angela Gruszka Ian Rosenberger Caley Adams

  • Our work for Jonathan Adler on Shopify featured in Forbes Advisor. Jonathan Adler is known for empowering customers to be their own interior designers. When we started partnering with them, they were on a growth path to becoming a global, industry-leading furniture brand. Our job was to ensure that the platform had enough flexibility and optionality for users to engage with the level of curation detail experienced in their brick-and-mortar stores, without overcomplicating or slowing down the path-to-purchase https://lnkd.in/ediPsy3Q

Huge congrats to long-time Verbal+Visual client partner Faherty Brand and Alex Faherty on becoming recognized officially as a certified B Corporation by B Lab! One of our guiding principles since day 1 has been partnering with brands that believe in and action on the ethos of "people • product • planet", and there is no greater badge of honor in today's retail ecosystem than achieving B Corp status, the latest in a handful of V+V clients to do so. Getting to speak on a panel with Lisa Diegel a few years back, I knew that achieving this status wasn't an if, but a when, and I'm thrilled to see it come to fruition. Congrats team Faherty! #bcorp #commercethatconverts #commercethatmatters

Co-Founder and CEO at Faherty Brand

We made a big announcement yesterday that was 11 years in the making We are officially a B Corp As WWD wrote this morning, "Faherty earned an overall score of 85.7, clearing the 80-point qualification threshold to join the community of companies using business as a “force for good.” Combined with Faherty’s 1% for the Planet membership, the family-led brand joins the “exclusive ranks” of “B1” companies — a movement initiated in 1999 by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard that consists of about 250 organizations that are both verified B Corps and 1% for the Planet members. For context, of the nearly 12,000 companies participating in one or the other, only 2 percent boast this dualstatus.“" I would like to celebrate Lisa Diegel our director of sustainability and impact - she has been a force in helping us get our B Corp status - 2 years ago we started working on the application and it was a long and intensive process. Alongside Patgun Chen, our VP of Sourcing and Production, the team has worked tirelessly to achieve B corp status. When Mike and I dreamed up this brand, we always knew that sustainability would be one of our most important bedrocks, and to see us now as a true worldwide leader is incredibly rewarding.  And a huge shout out to the leadership that Kerry Docherty brings to the brand in making us a leader in sustainability and impact in the fashion industry. Patgun Chen June Acocella Theresa Murtha Ian Haried Teri Chung Ryan Murdy Laura Arnold Alex Okot Steffan Boyd and the whole product making team for your leadership in sourcing and finding great partners and better materials. And here is the link to our impact report that we released yesterday. https://lnkd.in/gww5RFXY

  • Nearly five years old and still going strong. The website we designed and developed for former client, United By Blue, is featured on Shopify's "50+ Best Shopify Stores to Inspire Your Own (2024)". A great example of enduring design and commitment to sustainability coming together. This was a memorable project because there were so many opportunities to share the brand's mission and story throughout the customer journey. For every product purchased, United by Blue removes one pound of trash from oceans and waterways. #tbt #bcorp #sustainability #shopifypartner https://lnkd.in/e-nSRXr
