  • A few years ago, after 11 years service, Josky Abreu Talbot left the Army to attend University of Staffordshire to read Law. She was later awarded a First and recognised for her exceptional academic achievement. Josky then moved on to study her Barristers Training Course, for which she was awarded a Distinction. An inspiration to many young, talented, experienced and ambitious women in the military, Josky is currently working with the Crown Prosecution Service awaiting a pupillage as her next step to becoming a Barrister. Josky is a Veteran. 📢Each day this month, Veterans Can... will highlight a Veteran who was made by, not broken by, their time in the military. Around the world, Veterans who once served their respective nations in uniform, continue to serve on - doing good and succeeding in what they do. The mission of Veterans Can… is to connect the global Veteran community in order to bring balance pride and positivity. Join us - www.veterans-can.com #Veterans #VeteransCan #VeteransCanuary

  • Veterans Can... is an independent subscription based global Veteran community that relies on the donations of those who join us to deliver good. There are a number of ways people get involved, and this week we have created another! If you're reading this and would like to join us, please visit our website or download the Veterans Can... app and get stuck in! Veterans Can... is all about Connection, Community, Celebration and talking more positively about life after, and because of, the military. Together we will re-set the narrative and remind people a vast majority of Veterans can and still so add value to society. www.veterans-can.com

Hari Budha Magar MBE FRGS is an inspiration. That might be an over used word these days, but utterly justified in his case. To be selected to join the Gurkhas was a test, coming back from losing both legs above the knee in Afghanistan was a challenge, and climbing mountains in specially designed prosthetics was impossible. Only it wasn’t for Hari, who in 2023 became the first double above-knee amputee to summit Mount Everest. Hari is an ambassador and proud advocate of what people with disabilities can, and do, achieve.
