Happy Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin! Today's feast has its origins in the East, with the Western Church adopting it in the late 14th century. The breviary's readings at Matins are fittingly from the Eastern Father St. John of Damascus. You can read them here: https://lnkd.in/ebWXs4gd

The Year of Four Popes The Church has occasionally witnessed a "year of three Popes" when a Pope dies soon after election, leading to another conclave. However, 1276 stands alone as the year of four Popes. Read about how this occurred in our blog: https://lnkd.in/eHrHu9wW

Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, a pivotal victory by King Henry V of England in his claim to the throne of France. In England, October 25th was also celebrated as the feast day of St. Crispin and Crispinian. It was this feast day that inspired Shakespeare's famous "St. Crispin's day Speech".
