Together with Northeastern University’s Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT), we presented an interactive demo of our high-accuracy, AI-generated ray tracing technology at the IEEE Communications Society International Conference on Communications (IEEE ICC). These capabilities can be used both in the field and in the office to assess and optimize network coverage and performance in a real-time digital twin environment. We have selected ETS-Lindgren to provide an RF-shielded anechoic chamber to support Massive MIMO over-the-air (OTA) performance testing of Open Radio Units (O-RUs) at the VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open RAN (VALOR™). This testing is ideally suited to the needs of radio manufacturers planning to bid for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) NOFO2 funding, which focuses on O-RU Commercialization and Innovation. For our eighth consecutive O-RAN ALLIANCE PlugFest, we contributed our solutions and expertise to validate new products, specifications and use cases to improve deployment outcomes. VIAVI and Rohde & Schwarz conducted conformance testing of O-RAN Radio Units (O-RUs) from multiple vendors. The testing was based on a joint testbed focused on Open Radio Commercialization and Innovation well suited for the needs of radio manufacturers planning to bid for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) NOFO 2 funding.
