  • Jeff is a true passion-driven powerhouse in the gaming world, specializing in environmental art but always ready to jump into whatever role the team needs. Right now, Jeff is lending his talents to the character team on NBA 2K, from designing uniforms to fine-tuning signature data, always with an eye for detail and pride in every pixel. Jeff’s advice about working at VC,  Be Passionate about your work here! Grab a few friends and go play online at the Rec. If 5v5 is too much then start out at the park! Be fully immersed! This game is rewarding! For Jeff, his love for basketball isn’t just a passion—it’s woven into his work. “I take pride in putting in the hours and feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity!”

  • An exceptional producer by avocation, Senior Principal Producer Jason Ades is also deeply creative by nature. When not optimizing workflows across different parts of NBA 2K, you’ll find him writing and performing original songs, penning short stories, and developing a new comic! Over the last 4.5 years, Jason has impacted huge areas of NBA 2K: “From production lead on last gen MyCareer & Live Ops (2K22) to last gen Events, Quests, live ops and more on 2K23 and more recently leading development for the last two seasons of NBA 2K League.” What’s different about working at VC? “Pretty much everything! I've spent most of my career working on tentpole game franchises, where there is always a strong focus on optimizing consumer spending. While important to the bottom line, it's truly refreshing to be part of a culture that values quality and fun as the main priority.” Any advice for folks who want to join VC? “At every level, the advice I would give anyone who wants to work at VC is: Don't be afraid to ask questions, reach out and learn from others, grow and nurture relationships but most importantly... play the game you are working on. Doesn't matter what role you are in, become an expert in the game.”

  • Year after year, we try to make a basketball game that's better than any that have come before it. We are continuously humbled and amazed at the community, cultural impact, and enormity of passion that surrounds NBA 2K.

“Over the last quarter century, NBA 2K has risen from a disruptive challenger brand to a platform of convergence culture with truly no comp. In an era where young adults use the term “surreal” to qualify both the magnificent and mundane, the gaming industry has blurred the lines between fantasy and reality exponentially each year, changing how we see the world and ourselves. Over the last 15 years, that mirror, mirage, and mover of the needle has become NBA 2K.” Check out the latest from Boardroom on NBA 2K as a cultural connector, featuring works from Zak Armitage, Erick Boenisch, David Kelley and Ronnie Singh. https://2kgam.es/4fSDYtK

The Visual Concepts university tour continues! It's always such a pleasure to talk to the students at Carnegie Mellon University, and Janice Lal brought the full spirit and energy of our company (with tech facts and comic relief from Richard Sternin). Other stops on the tour have had some great presentations by Derek Willner, and include Gnomon, Full Sail University, Otis College of Art and Design, UC Irvine, University of Southern California, Woodbury University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. So many amazing students... the future of our industry is bright, indeed. #gamedev #2K #videogames

There is only one Andrew Rai.   For almost eight years, Andrew has guided NBA 2K artists in creating the stunning visuals that delight players year after year. Along with the pride he takes in seeing the environments his team produces, Andrew is also excited about the breadth of NBA 2K fandom, and “how many people are passionate about the game. Sure, the fans online can be harsh at times, but that is a sign that they care and I have room for improvement.”   As for what makes VC special? “The people. The lack of toxic egos and the endless supply of helpful, approachable folks makes VC a unique place to work. I feel everyone is treated with utmost respect and are rewarded for their merits, making it a really chill and happy group to work (and play) with.”   For Andrew, being successful at VC is all about getting and giving help to anyone who needs it. “Reach out to people around you. The games VC works on are massive in scope and the only way they get done is with everyone helping each other out.”   Visual Concepts is lucky to have him. As are his cats.
