We wrap up our WIC Week celebrations by featuring two of our local NAWIC Chapters, NAWIC Richmond Chapter #141#141, and NAWIC Wilmington-Cape Fear. Both organizations have been busy this week, attending jobsite tours, facility tours with some of our amazing trade partners, lunch and learns with industry partners, networking events and even contributing to the local food bank. We are proud to lead the way with WMJ Project Administrator Anne Ezell serving as President of the Wilmington Cape Fear Chapter and Project Administrator Tina Showalter serving as the Recording Secretary for the Richmond Chapter. These two organizations have taken the theme of this year’s WIC Week, Together We Rise, to heart! Thank you to everyone who took time to honor and celebrate the women of the construction industry this week.   #construction #WICWeek #buildthebest #buildcommunity #togetherwerise #buildwhatmatters

Jordan Project Engineer Sarah Gaudet.   A graduate of James Madison University with an engineering degree, Sarah joined our team in Wilmington, North Carolina, full-time after graduating. We kicked off our celebration of WIC Week by hearing from Arlene Lee, CEO and Principal of Lee Construction Group in Charlottesville, Virginia.   Arlene, who is currently the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Associated General Contractors of Virginia, served as the organizations first female chair.     Her story is one of dedication and determination, taking over her husband’s businesses and helping grow and advance them while maintaining core values of honor, respect, and professionalism.   In addition to AGCVA, Arlene is also a member of the Virginia Council of CEOs, where she was recognized with the McCabe Leadership Award.   We are very thankful to have Arlene share her inspiring story with us! Located in the heart of VCU’s campus, this 371,000-square-foot, 12-story residence hall features 784 units, 1,522 beds, a fitness center, and a mail room. The first floor incorporates offices for VCU Residence Life and a separate flex space for VCU, including a conference center and offices. Gladding Residence Center is the largest residence hall in the state of Virginia on any college campus.
