Here’s the 10 things I learned as a 22-year old restaurant owner… 1) Age doesn’t matter. Provide purpose and people will follow. 📆 2) Work-Life balance is overrated. There is no greater feeling than putting everything you have into something. 3) If you don’t have kids, your allowed to move your desk in the kitchen and steal the dining table 😁 4) Don’t make decisions out of fear. The outcome is never as bad as you think. 5) Be authentic. I read every leadership book I could find to try and ‘act’ like a leader… at the end of the day, authenticity matters most. People smell out BS like a bloodhound. 🐕🦺 6) Self-certainty and your 20’s go hand in hand. That can be a superpower! 🦸🏽 …or destroy you. 7) We are the sum of the 5 people we talk to most. Be VERY conscious of who they are. 8) You are stronger than the world tells you. I regularly worked triple shifts (30 hours straight). Was it healthy, no. 🤕 Empowering, yes. It’s only when we stretch ourselves to the absolute limit that we find out how strong we really are. 💪 9) Complacency is like cancer. It’s hard to stop the spread if you let it take hold. 10) People matter above all else. If it wasn’t for people like Andrew McGehee, Michael Satoh, Jayquan K., Sean Winkler, Jonathan Valdez, Aaron Litz, Leonard Taylor, Egerton Edwards, and MANY others, failure would have been a certainty.
