About us

The Washington Mystics entered into history on Nov. 11, 1997, when the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) announced that Washington, D.C., would join the league for the 1998 season as one of the first expansion cities. The Mystics have made the playoffs numerous times. In 2018, the team matched its best regular season record (22-12) while earning their first trip to the WNBA Finals. In 2019, the Mystics won their first-ever WNBA Championship. Washington has been the host city for the 2002 and 2007 All-Star Games.
