About us

WCNY was originally founded in 1965 as The Educational television Council of Central. Today, WCNY is Central New York’s public broadcasting company, providing great local and national programming, high-quality educational television, classical music and support for the arts across 19 counties. WCNY’s new 56,000-square-foot Broadcast and Education Center allows WCNY to produce and deliver quality educational programming not just in Syracuse, but across New York State and beyond. WCNY Productions, is WCNY’s award-winning, full-service video production company. This experienced team produces commercials, corporate overviews, historical documentaries and broadcast network segments.
