  • Driving a fully loaded log truck on narrow, unpaved mountain roads isn’t for everyone. But for Wanika Doggett, it’s just about the most exhilarating career imaginable. "I’ll be doing this for the rest of my working life — not just because I love the job itself, but because I love being part of this tradition," Wanika says. "My boyfriend was in the logging industry for 60 years, and so was his father, who’s 98. It’s all they talk about, and now I understand why. It’s a way of life." • 'Tis the season at our Forest Regeneration Center in Rochester, Wash., where more than 5 million Christmas trees — and more than 20 million trees for reforestation — get their start every year. KING 5's Evening recently re-aired a segment they filmed last year showing the full life cycle of seedling production as explained by nursery site leader Auriel Day and seed plant manager Viviana Olivares. Learn more about the care we put into our "baby trees." #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/e2KSfkpm

  • We're supporting the clean energy transition by adding renewable energy projects to our working forests, one of many ways our Natural Climate Solutions business is growing Weyerhaeuser's positive climate impact. The Timbermill wind project, launching soon, will rely in part on 16 turbines installed on our timberlands to harness the steady coastal winds from Albemarle Sound in North Carolina. Read more about how our NCS and public affairs teams worked with the project developer, local elected officials and the community to create a successful outcome that will benefit the region for years to come. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #NaturalClimateSolutions https://lnkd.in/epTP_Gxj

  • We're proud to announce our team in Springfield, Ore., has received a merit award from Oregon Department of Forestry for salvage logging work on a steep hillside following the historic 2024 ice storm in Lane County. Located near a busy county road, residential homes and the McKenzie River, the project required meticulous efforts to reduce fire risk, reforest the land and enhance road access for emergency vehicles. We're grateful for the recognition from ODF and the opportunity to contribute to our community! https://lnkd.in/g_uDN3-J

  • Weyerhaeuser continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer by donating Christmas trees to several of our Oregon operating communities, including a 24-foot noble fir to the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Donald Irons, forester at our Mid-Coast tree farm, harvested, transported and installed the tree. “It’s heartwarming to see one of our trees help make Lincoln City a bit brighter this holiday season,” Don says. “We hope the community has the chance to come out and enjoy the extra holiday cheer from their local foresters.” https://lnkd.in/ghSJhiaS

  • Stephen Mead, a sales representative for Distribution on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is fulfilling his lifelong dream by inspiring young minds at three Santa’s Workshop events. Each event provides local children the opportunity to showcase their creativity and spread holiday cheer by painting and assembling their own articulated wooden toys from pieces crafted by local high school students. “It was incredible to watch the students dive into the project,” Steve says. “From designing to cutting out the toy parts and sanding them smooth, the students put in so much heart and effort.” Learn more about Steve and the workshop. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #meetourpeople https://lnkd.in/eNGpcbsx

  • Conservation has long been an important part of how we manage the forests and landscapes in our care. We are proud to work with more than 20 different conservation partners across the U.S. to develop programs that expand public access, protect critical habitat and preserve sites of environmental, cultural and historical significance — ensuring these areas retain their exceptional value for generations to come. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay

When it comes to forest carbon projects, integrity matters. Alicia Robbins, our vice president of portfolio analytics and business development, explained why and shared more about our rigorous approach to developing such projects — including our first in Maine last year — when she sat down with ESG Insider co-host Esther Whieldon before this week's S&P Global Commodity Insights' Global Carbon Markets Conference in Barcelona. "We're really focused on delivering meaningful projects that have high levels of integrity and quality," Alicia said. Listen to the full interview to learn more about our expertise in forest carbon and why Alicia expects 2025 to be an exciting and pivotal year for Weyerhaeuser in growing this space. #NaturalClimateSolutions #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/gGNPvytX
