I launched my coaching practice working with widows in the workplace after losing my husband suddenly. After his death, I had to mobilize instantly to run the business my husband had founded, take care of my girls, and accept a new life. I know I’m not the only one and I want to help as many widows as I can. My goal is to provide widows with the tools and support to confidently move forward personally and professionally rebuilding a life you love. I’m currently accepting new clients. If you are a widow or you know a widow, please have them schedule a free moving forward session using the link in the comments. #widowsintheworkplace #griefjourney #lossofalovedone #grief #griefandloss

National Grief Awareness Week, which this year is December 2-8, raises awareness about grief, the grieving process and how to support those who are grieving. It acknowledges that grief is a natural, universal response to loss while also a deeply personal experience. The aim is to encourage empathy and compassion and to provide a dedicated period for individuals, organizations and communities to come together to acknowledge and address the various aspects of grief. How can you participate in National Grief Awareness Week 2024? Here are some ways to get involved, from awarenessdays: Share Personal Stories: Encourage individuals to share their experiences with grief, either through written narratives, art, or verbal discussions. This sharing can help others feel less alone in their grief journey. Attend Grief Support Events: Look for local or online grief support events, workshops, and seminars. These can provide valuable information and a supportive community for those in need. Offer a Listening Ear: Sometimes, the most significant support you can provide is to listen without judgment. Offer your time and empathy to someone who is grieving. Spread Awareness: Use social media and other platforms to share information about National Grief Awareness Week, including facts about grief and resources for support. Support Grief Organizations: Contribute to or volunteer with organizations dedicated to helping individuals cope with grief and loss. #GriefAwareness #SupportingGrief #GriefJourney #EmbracingGrief #YouAreNotAlone

Happy Thanksgiving to all! For some that are experiencing their first Thanksgiving without their loved one, this can be a difficult time. I hope that you will be able to remember a fond memory, make one of their favorite dishes, start a new tradition or just be surrounded by those you love. I wanted to share one of my favorite memories with you. My late husband Steve’s (yes, he did close his eyes for photos 90% of the time) masterpiece is the chocolate pecan pie. Not any chocolate pecan pie recipe, but the Frontera Grill pecan pie. When we first started dating and lived in River North, we would go early and put our name on the waiting list, go home and have a glass of wine, and then it would be time for dinner. Over the years, we frequented the restaurant so many times we were able to call for a reservation back when they would not take reservations. We also got to know the staff quite well. It was like coming home when we dined there. They even shared some of their special Mexican chocolate that we shaved on top of our chocolate pecan pie. I still have the chocolate and will use the shavings on the top of our pie this year. Cheers to you and all of those that you love and are forever in your heart. ❤️ #widow #widowcoach #widowsintheworkplace #griefsupport #thanksgiving

💣 Navigating Grief and Menopause: A Double Whammy 💣 Five years after my husband’s unexpected death, I faced another life-altering challenge: a second breast cancer diagnosis. This time, it required me to enter menopause suddenly to begin a new treatment plan. That quick transition into menopause wreaked havoc on my body in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. I recently had the chance to discuss this experience with Joe Hoye on his Menopause From A Man podcast. In the episode, I share some of the approaches I took to ease this sudden transition and manage the compounded effects of grief and menopause—a rarely discussed, yet deeply impactful combination. Menopause, especially when compounded by loss, isn’t often talked about here on LinkedIn. But it’s a reality for many women, and it shouldn’t be a taboo subject. These experiences shape who we are, how we work, and how we support others in their journeys. You can listen to the full episode provided in the first comment. Let’s keep opening up these conversations. The more we share, the more we support each other through life’s toughest challenges. #Menopause #Grief #BreastCancer #LifeTransitions #LetsTalk
