Authentic Montessori for our Changing World
About us
Wildflower is an ecosystem of decentralized Montessori micro-schools that support children, teachers, and parents. Wildflower aspires to give all children and families the opportunity to choose high quality, beautiful learning environments as they follow life's unfolding journey. Our aim is to be an experiment in a new learning environment, blurring the boundaries between home and school, between scientists and teachers, between schools and the neighborhoods around them. Our schools are small and teacher-led, with deep parent engagement. At the core of Wildflower are 9 principles that define the approach. Our network is supported by a foundation that works to build capacity, systems, tools and research to grow and strengthen the network.

"As the first Wildflower school in Utah, Pinyon Montessori brings to life the vision and dedication of its founding Teacher Leaders, Brandi Allen, Chip Reichanadter, and Margaret McDonald, and creates a pathway for future schools in the region. With decades of collective Montessori experience, the Founding Teacher Leaders’ dream was to create a school that would be accessible to all families, regardless of income, and oriented to the individual needs, identities, and strengths of each child." "Mountain Juniper Montessori is the first microsite that is part of the Wildflower Montessori Public Schools of Colorado. This public charter program serves students in the Utah Park neighborhood of Aurora, Colorado, and will be joined by up to five more charter microsites in the years ahead. The partnership of Founding Teacher Leaders Martha D. Briggs and Michelle Hobbins grew from their shared desire to create an inclusive, culturally-affirming Montessori program for Aurora families from a broad range of identities and backgrounds." "Propelled by a vision to offer authentic Montessori curriculum within a special education context, Founding Teacher Leader Delmarie Muñoz Pérez chose to co-locate and design Flamboyán in partnership with The Fundación Superhéroes. Superhéroes is a local nonprofit focused on meeting the needs of Puerto Rican children with neurodiversity and functional differences who are too often underserved and uncentered in the education system." "Desert Peach Montessori bloomed in the beautiful and rugged terrain of Reno, Nevada, growing out of a decades-long friendship between two educators with a shared passion for child-centered education. Kelly and Tamra’s relationship began while working at a large Montessori school in Reno. Through their shared experience there, they were inspired to create a small, community-responsive school centered around food justice and making authentic Montessori accessible to more families." "The Dahlia community came together to rally local funder support, successfully raising more than $1 million to create the new elementary school in the midst of a vibrant, high cost of living community with a distinct lack of quality, accessible school options. Today, Dahlia is the only elementary school in their neighborhood, where 70% of children live in households that earn low incomes."
