WCN protects endangered wildlife by supporting conservationists who ensure wildlife and people co-exist and thrive.
About us
Founded in 2002, Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) is dedicated to protecting endangered species and preserving their natural habitats. We support innovative strategies for people and wildlife to co-exist and thrive. We partner with independent, community-based conservationists around the world and provide them with the capital and tools they need to develop solutions for human-wildlife coexistence. WCN's conservationists actively engage local people as effective stewards of their environment and work in a culturally-respectful manner to ensure that conservation skills and values will be passed on to future generations.

How one conservation team is saving Peru's last spectacled bears. In the heart of Peru’s Laquipampa region, the Spectacled Bear Conservation Society Peru (SBC) team is fighting more than just wildfires—they're protecting a fragile ecosystem and the last remaining population of spectacled bears in the equatorial dry forests. Thanks to SBC's quick mobilization, fires have been kept at bay in key habitats—but the battle is far from over. SBC is working tirelessly to build long-term solutions, including community fire brigades and stronger protections for bear habitats. The stakes are high. Learn more and help ensure a future for Laquipampa's bears and the communities that call it home in our blog below: https://hubs.ly/Q02_mLT00

I could not be more excited to celebrate the release of our Mufasa: The Lion King "Protect the Pride" collaboration. In celebration of the upcoming theatrical release of Mufasa: The Lion King, arriving in theaters December 20, Disney will once again support the Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund (LRF) and LRF’s partners working across Africa to support the efforts of local communities in Africa to conserve lions on behalf of the world. This moment took a team of many creative, dedicated, talented people at The Walt Disney Company and Wildlife Conservation Network's #LionRecoveryFund, not to mention our great partners across the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
