Did you know that introducing art to toddlers plays a key role in their early childhood development? From boosting motor skills to sparking creativity, art helps little ones explore the world around them in a unique and meaningful way. At the Wiregrass Museum of Art, our Toddler Hour on Toddler Thursdays is designed with this in mind! We believe in nurturing curiosity, creativity, and growth through activities that let toddlers engage with art in fun and impactful ways. This is why we do what we do — to offer opportunities for every child to grow, create, and explore the world of art! Join us at WMA every 4th Thursday of the month from 9am-10am in the WMA galleries for a cool art centered reading hour and a scavenger hunt!

You Are Amazing Like a Rocket: Pep Talks From Young People Around The World, showcases 50 handmade motivational posters created by teenagers from around the world who took part in a program organized by the creators of PepToc. Our WMA teens also participated in this program and their work is featured in this book! The collection is heartwarming and inspired by the success of PepToc, brimming with messages of encouragement and advice from children. The posters reflect the authentic and often lighthearted wisdom of the young creators. It serves as a tangible reminder of our capacity for hope in challenging times and would make a thoughtful and uplifting gift for anyone in need of a pep talk!

The unity of a community is what connects residents to each other and to their local area. Community cohesion is crucial in forging a common vision for a shared future. When differences emerge or cohesion weakens, the arts play a pivotal role in bringing people together. At WMA, we believe that a community thrives when it feels unified, cooperative, and secure. We place great value on our community outreach because we recognize that arts involvement contributes to social cohesion by reducing isolation, promoting collaboration, and establishing community connections.

Have you ever felt the irresistible urge to touch a painting in a museum, even though you know you're not supposed to? We totally understand the struggle! At WMA we take the care of our artwork very seriously, but we've come up with a fun solution! We've placed tactile pieces throughout the museum next to selected works, a tactile experience offers an equal chance to all visually impaired and sighted visitors of all ages to approach art through the sense of touch.
