My answer to the second question in the slide below actually sparked a great convo earlier with my colleague Tamar Keenan about how outdated the term "career ladder" is. It makes careers seem so rigid and pre-determined. We don't have to always climb up to progress. It leaves unrealistic expectations and narrows what growth actually means. What should we be saying instead of "career ladder"? Perhaps, we should be calling it "career maps" instead, since there are many different career destinations to consider and pathways to reaching them that are equally as satisfying. This also includes taking the rocket ship up to space (senior management/c-level), which is certainly a destination, but not the only way to grow. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Graduating with an MA in Public Art and Performance from London Metropolitan University was one of the happiest moments of my life.

In 2018, Clemson University formed the adaptive sports program, which provides athletic opportunities to students with mobility impairments. Today, Clemson remains the only university in South Carolina to offer adaptive sports as well as a related concentration in recreational therapy as a part of Clemson PRTM - Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management. Jasmine Townsend, one of RHBSSI's faculty fellows, is the director of the adaptive sports program in addition to being the recreation therapy program coordinator. Teaching for Washington Improv Theater is one of the most rewarding and engaging things I do. I'm delighted that our classes won this well-deserved recognition by Washington City Paper! 🎉 Taking an improv class is about so much more than comedy and being onstage (though both are certainly fun pieces of the experience). It's about using our brains in a different way than our daily lives typically entail. It's about digging deeper into how we listen, speak, and metabolize information. It's about taking a creative approach to better understanding how humans interact. It's about even more things than I can list here!
