Meet Faazla Iqbal, a trailblazing electrical engineer with a passion for sustainable innovation. Her journey in cleantech began with a groundbreaking solar-powered auto-irrigation system in Pakistan, addressing water scarcity in agriculture and demonstrating the power of renewable energy to make irrigation more efficient and sustainable. In 2023, while working at Nestlé, Faazla attended WCS Talks. This event set the stage for her to shine as a speaker, engaging in a fireside chat with Lael Giebel, MBA, LEED AP. She used this platform to advocate for sustainable agritech solutions and amplify the voices of young innovators in the field. The exposure and connections gained through WCS propelled Faazla’s career, leading her to the prestigious IHE Delft Institute for Water Education as a Rotary International Peace Scholar. At this UNESCO-recognized institute, she is pursuing a degree in Digital Innovation and Hydroinformatics, focusing on the critical intersection of Water-Food-Energy. Here, she found a thriving community dedicated to sustainable water solutions and cutting-edge ecological technologies. Driven by a vision to build sustainable technologies that integrate AI and digital innovation, Faazla aims to tackle critical global water challenges.
