This International Human Rights Day, we reflect on this year’s theme: Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now. We have an opportunity to change perceptions by speaking up against hate speech, correcting misinformation and countering disinformation. At Renewables Forward, our members are driving a clean energy future rooted in equity, diversity and inclusion. This is our time to mobilize and reinvigorate the global movement for human rights through a just energy transition. 💡 Join us today and be part of the change: https://ow.ly/ibZH50Ulm84
Renewables Forward
Renewables & Environment
A collaborative resource for inspiring greater diversity & inclusion within the renewable and clean energy industry.
About us
The transition to an economy powered by clean energy is under way. To actively drive the “just transition” and champion diversity, equity and inclusion we commit to action that elevates training and education, opens access to networks and resources, shares and builds wealth for the communities in which we work, and elevates opportunities for every individual and community. Together, we will build a more resilient, efficient, sustainable and affordable energy future. The initial initiative framework is simple and includes commitments to act on four core principles: • Assess diversity, equity, and inclusion in our industry to raise awareness around inequality and benchmark progress toward a more diverse and inclusive industry. • Develop and share corporate practices and policies for a consistent drive toward increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion within our companies and the industry. • Create a more diverse and inclusive pipeline of candidates in the renewable energy industry. • Invest in the under-resourced and minority communities in which we work and operate.

Enthusiasm and energy ran high at the National Hydropower Association’s Clean Currents conference, Oct. 7-9 in Portland, Oregon, this year! More than 2,000 attendees and 230 exhibitors joined to celebrate America’s first renewable energy resource. Renewables Forward led two events there: Training in “How to Use the DEI Pathway Forward” and a workshop on “Managing Hard Conversations” – dealing with microaggressions in the workplace. NHA is a strong partner in the DEI Framework initiative, and several hydropower firms have already adopted the Pathway Forward: https://lnkd.in/gTfpaVs3 📸 PC: Chris Nichols
