Let us introduce you to Joanna Nifong, a vital Women in Motion member and part of the WIM Leadership team. This year, she’s been instrumental in the Mentoring Committee, bringing her deep experience and supportive guidance to help us create a signature program for the women in our community. With over 40 years in banking and executive roles, Joanna has a unique talent for strategy, team leadership, and mentoring. Her career has taught her invaluable lessons about understanding and empowering others. As she puts it, “The gift of being mentored by someone who can share their experience and candid advice can make the difference in your career trajectory. The ability to give back that gift as a mentor to someone else is equally rewarding.” Since retiring, Joanna has served as Chairperson of the Board for the United Way of Greater High Point, and now she’s leading their strategic planning. Since joining Women in Motion, Joanna has found a meaningful community that’s helped her connect with like-minded women and deepen her impact locally. “Women in Motion,” she shares, “has been a blessing in so many ways. It has given me a comfortable way to get to know other women in the community and opened my eyes to the amazing women in the area.” Outside of her work and volunteerism, Joanna is passionate about family, cooking, and travel. Her advice for women aiming for leadership is simple but powerful: “Surround yourself with talented people who share your vision but bring different skills to the table, seek feedback, and regularly self-assess to stay on course.” We are incredibly grateful to have impactful women like Joanna in our community!
