About us
WomenStrong International finds, funds, strengthens, and shares women-driven solutions that will transform lives in urban communities. Our partners start by listening to women, who know best what they need in order to thrive. Then we bring these organizations together into a Learning Lab, to develop, test, sharpen, and disseminate their solutions. Through our collective learning and sharing, WomenStrong is building a global community of organizations better equipped to advance the rights and wellbeing of women and girls.

When Judith Dembetembe co-founded The Girls’ Legacy in Zimbabwe, she was on a mission to change the reality she saw: girls and women treated as second-class citizens, always compelled to prove their worth. Through community clubs, she gives girls the space, support, and tools to become leaders who demand their rights and shape their futures. But leadership is a journey. Judith has learned to care for herself while empowering others. “I never used to take breaks,” she says. Now, she’s passing the baton to her team and building a lasting legacy of inclusion and equality. Join us in supporting leaders such as Judith. 🌍💪 Together, we’re building a world where girls know they belong. #Donate https://lnkd.in/gBqzzz62 #WomenStrong #StrongWomenStrongerWorld #GirlsLeadership #EmpoweredGirls #StrongerTogether #ZimbabweWomen #GirlsEducation #LeadershipJourney #BuildingLegacies

For Teresa Shields, Co-Director of Centro Mujeres in Mexico, collaboration is key to transformation. Through WomenStrong’s network of peers and experts, Teresa and her team have found not just solutions, but entirely new ways of thinking about their challenges. “Presenting the obstacles we face to our peers has been eye-opening,” Teresa explains. “It has helped us gain new perspectives, reminded us that we’re not alone, and offered resources from other contexts that might work in ours. What once felt impossible has become a world of possibilities.” Centro Mujeres empowers women, youth, and migrant communities by addressing critical issues such as health, human rights, and gender equity. But even the strongest organizations face hurdles. WomenStrong's programs have given Teresa's team tools, skills, and the confidence to lead with a new vision. Help us continue to support leaders like Teresa, who are making the impossible possible. Donate to our “Strong Women, Stronger World” campaign today, and contribute to a future where every challenge becomes an opportunity. 💪✨ https://lnkd.in/gBqzzz62 #StrongWomenStrongerWorld #WomenStrong #CollaborationForChange #Empowerment #GenderEquity

Aren’t these beautiful? Inspired by our partner Gender and Development for Cambodia, WomenStrong has collaborated with Angkor Bullet Jewellery to create unique earrings featuring our logo — a special gift for our monthly recurring supporters. #AngkorBulletJewellery Cambodia is an artisan collective near Phnom Penh, Cambodia, led by designer Chanta Theoun, who discovered his craft after being orphaned during the Khmer Rouge era. The collective empowers widows and women living with disabilities to transform melted-down bullet casings — remnants of Cambodia’s war-torn past — into stunning jewelry. Each piece tells a story of resilience, renewal, and the power to rebuild. Commit to a monthly #donation of $84 or more, and we’ll send you these earrings as a token of appreciation. https://lnkd.in/gBqzzz62 #EmpowerWomen #StrongerTogether #ResilienceInAction #JewelryWithMeaning #SupportLocalArtisans #CambodiaCrafts #WomenStrong #GiftsThatGiveBack #FeministLeadership #TransformingLives #SustainableChange #HopeAndHealing #WomenSupportingWomen #BulletToBeauty #StrongerWorld

(2/2) EN: As the movement grew, Montserrat Arévalo Alvarado and #MujeresTransformando expanded their fight beyond El Salvador. Now, they support workers across borders — domestic workers, agribusiness laborers, and Maya weavers. Their work continues to build connections, spread awareness, and demand dignity for all women. The Regional Agreement of Women for Dignified Work that Montserrat has been instrumental in creating has become a beacon of hope, a symbol of what’s possible when women unite across borders to challenge the status quo and build a fairer world. WomenStrong works to strengthen organizations such as Mujeres Transformando, and to connect them to other bold women-led NGOs, with whom they share strategies and challenges and forge collaborations. With your support, we can keep this momentum going. Let’s continue to stand together, lift each other up, and build a world where every woman’s voice is heard and respected. ✨ Help us make the next chapter of Montserrat’s story possible. (1/2) EN: In the wake of this election season, we are reminded that progress is possible when we organize, stand united, and demand change. Women’s voices — whether in the workplace, in politics, or in their communities — are helping us build a more just and equitable world. This fight isn’t new. For decades, women like Montserrat Arévalo Alvarado have been on the frontlines, standing up against exploitation and fighting for the right to work in safe, dignified conditions. The same spirit that drove Montserrat and her fellow workers to rise up against the injustices they faced in the workplace is what fuels women’s movements worldwide — including the many hard-fought labor rights victories and political wins we see today! In El Salvador, Montserrat’s organization, Mujeres Transformando, continues to empower women to know their labor rights, organize in solidarity, and push back against systems of exploitation. 💪 Together, we’re stronger. Together, we create a better future. #MujeresFuertesMundoFuerte #WomenStrong #DerechosLaborales #PoderPolítico #DerechosDeLasMujeres #ElSalvador #MujeresTransformando #HermandadGlobal
