We had a great time presenting on geospatial aircraft and lidar sensor operations to a group of Nova Southeastern University students at Fort Lauderdale Airport this week. 25 years ago, GIS Day was established by Esri to celebrate and recognize the profound impact of GIS, a powerful and versatile tool that links data to maps and today, is utilized across nearly every industry.  Used for everything from supporting urban planning and asset management to informing emergency response systems and environmental impact modeling, GIS uncovers patterns, relationships, and geographic context, helping to enhance communication, efficiency, management, and decision-making.  This year, our team used GIS to build an interactive map to illustrate Woolpert’s vast range of geospatial projects and their impacts worldwide. Huge congrats to DCS Customer Success Manager Godfrey Day, MSIS and his family, who were named 2024-2025 Family of the Year by Youngstown State University. The accolade highlights the importance of family support in a student's life. Godfrey and his wife, Natasha, are parents to five children, including Mariah Day. Mariah was one of Ohio's top high school hurdlers and sprinters last year, is now a freshman hurdler and sprinter for the YSU Women’s Track and Field Team. Mariah earned this recognition by submitting a heartfelt essay that emphasized the unconditional love and support her family provides to both family and friends.
