AI – Does it help candidates or hinder them? Recruitment has changed, thanks to AI... It’s changed how companies identify, attract, and hire talent. It also promises to enhance efficiency, reduce bias, and create a more streamlined hiring process. But is it helping or hindering candidates? Let’s explore the pros and cons of AI for candidates: ✅ AI helps to accelerate the hiring process. This means that candidates don’t have to wait weeks or months to hear back about the roles they’ve applied for. ❌ However, it causes a lack of transparency. Candidates may feel alienated by automated rejection notices that come with no context or explanation for why the AI algorithm made the decision it did. ✅ Candidates can receive more personalization; for example, AI-driven chatbots can respond instantly to candidate queries and updates on their application status. This real-time interaction can help candidates feel valued, respected, and better informed. ❌ While it might feel personal, there are worries AI might start to feel bland and repetitive. Candidates often seek a connection with potential employers, but AI can strip away that human connection and make it feel cold and transactional. ✅ It’s believed a positive of AI is that it can reduce human bias and exclusively focus on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. ❌ That said, AI is only as unbiased as the data it is trained on. If historical hiring data is biased, AI will take this information and make the same biased hiring decisions. To navigate the complexities of AI and ensure the candidate truly benefits from its use in recruitment, companies need to carefully choose how much AI assistance they use and ensure it is balanced with a healthy amount of human interaction. Recruiting isn't just about asking questions; it's about building genuine relationships. A recent piece by our Founder Todd Dawson, highlights the importance of mixing personal and professional conversation to build trust with candidates. Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Balance is key: Blend business talk with personal interaction to create a natural flow. 2️⃣ Be genuinely curious: Ask about their motivations, accomplishments, and even unkept promises. 3️⃣ Share something about yourself: Building rapport goes both ways. Creating a space where candidates feel open to discuss their experiences not only helps in gathering valuable information but also strengthens the relationship between recruiter and candidate. Check out the full article for more insights: https://lnkd.in/erG4SJQD What are some strategies you've found effective in creating meaningful conversations with candidates? Let's discuss in the comments! #Recruitment #RecruiterTips #TalentAcquisition

Ready to attract top talent? Make sure you include these 4 things in your job listings. 👇 To attract a high-quality, diverse pool of candidates for your roles, you’ll need engaging, realistic, and inclusive job descriptions that stand out. But how do you actually go about creating them? Here’s what you’ll want to include: ✅ Key skills – focusing on the key competencies for a role will help you widen your talent pool. Rather than restricting yourself to candidates with specific experience, it will help you find appropriately skilled candidates from more interesting backgrounds. ✅ Focus on potential – rather than waiting for a ready-made expert to fall into your lap, look for candidates who show potential and can grow into the role. Attract these candidates by highlighting opportunities for growth and development. ✅ Company values – highlighting your values will help you attract like-minded candidates. Talking about your ‘collaborative culture’ or commitment to ‘innovation’ and ‘problem-solving’ will ensure you appeal to candidates who share these values. ✅ Accessible language - use inclusive language that encourages a diverse range of applicants. You also want to avoid heavy jargon and complex language that could deter suitable applicants with less direct experience. Looking for more support in your recruitment efforts? 🚀 The Latest Edition of Our Newsletter is Live! 🚀 This month, we draw inspiration from one of history’s greatest forces: The Roman Empire. For over 1,000 years, the Romans dominated with their unmatched military prowess, built on four key principles: planning, discipline, execution, and numbers, which recruiters can use today. 💡 Here’s a sneak peek: Planning: Roman generals left nothing to chance. Recruiters must do the same with strategic, distraction-free plans. Execution: Just as the Romans tailored their strategies to different enemies, recruiters must adapt to their audiences, from HR professionals to executives. 👇 Read the full article to uncover how these principles can supercharge your recruitment strategy. Leadership tips to help you foster mental health in the workplace 👇 Multigenerational workplaces need a well-rounded approach to mental health. Everybody is different, every generation has unique needs, and it's the role of leadership to ensure all needs are met. Here are some strategies to help you achieve that: 👉 Promote mental health awareness – The more you weave mental health awareness and encourage open conversations in the workplace, the better. Promoting mental health awareness is more than offering wellness activities; it's about counseling, promoting a healthy work-life balance, and giving employees work flexibility. 👉 Foster a supportive and inclusive culture – You need to focus on creating a culture that prioritizes mental health. This means that leaders and managers must demonstrate empathy, adaptability, and inclusivity. Diversity and inclusion training can help ensure that every employee feels valued and respected. 👉 Understand the needs of each generation – Leaders must identify each generation's unique characteristics and needs and tailor their approach to meet everybody's needs. For example, Baby Boomers and Gen X value stability and face-to-face interactions, while Millennials and Gen Z want flexibility and a strong sense of purpose.
