It’s a WRAP! Last week I facilitated my last Team-building Coaching session for 2024 with the exceptional leaders at the High School of Innovation and Excellence. One of my favorite moments from the session was our “Team Puzzle Dynamics” activity—a unique component I created to challenge how teams work together with limited information. I handed the team a simple puzzle and gave them just 10 minutes to complete it—without showing them the final image. Watching this group of leaders communicate, collaborate, and strategize without knowing the bigger picture was incredible. This exercise reflects what it’s like to work on a team every day when the leader provides minimal guidance or an incomplete vision. It highlighted the importance of trust, creativity, and flexibility in navigating uncertainty. The insights and takeaways from this activity were profound. It underscored the value of strong leadership in providing clarity, fostering collaboration, and ensuring every piece of the puzzle fits together in service of a shared goal. During this interview I was asked this critical question “We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?” reading my response made me emotional looking how far I’ve come. RESPONSE: Smooth! Definitely rocky, and honestly, it still is a roller coaster of growth. Amazing growth, but with elevation comes new unpredictable challenges. I am still learning as I go about scaling a business. If I’m being totally honest, it took me 7 years to finally finalize my core services. I started out a little all over the place. Where I am now, I’m figuring out the financing struggles. As you grow, you need to hire people, and people need to get paid right away. Meanwhile, my clients take a very long time to pay invoices, so my biggest obstacle has been financing. Most banks are not nice to small businesses with no established business credit just yet. Despite these challenges, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Every struggle has taught me valuable lessons and made Your Healthy Reality stronger. It’s a continuous learning process, but seeing the impact we make on organizations and individuals keeps me motivated. The rocky road is just part of the adventure! Within the first 5 minutes of the workshop, I had people in tears. This has never happened to me before. I always start with an introduction and a question that ties into the theme of the professional development session. This time, I asked, "If you could be a kid again for one day, what age would you go back to, and what would you do?" The answers were heartfelt, raw, and deeply personal. People shared memories of joy, innocence, and even pain. It was a powerful reminder that there is a personal story behind every professional, a childhood that shaped who they are today. It set the tone for an incredible session, where we leaned into vulnerability, connection, and growth. Moments like these remind me why I do this work—it’s about creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered. 💛

As we approach the end of the year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the gifts we’ve received, no matter how small. Whether it’s a lesson learned, a relationship strengthened, or a new opportunity, gratitude can shine light on the positives, even in challenging times. We did it! Last week, we had the most unforgettable day for our team as we facilitated the NYC Department of Education Office of Student Enrollment staff retreat for over 200 incredible employees. 💙 The theme, Reset & Rediscovering Our Why, set the tone for a day filled with reflection, connection, and renewed purpose. Together, we explored what drives this amazing team to serve students and families across our city with such dedication and heart. The energy in the room was truly special—laughter, meaningful conversations, and even a few heartfelt moments reminded us all why this work matters so deeply. Watching the team engage, share their stories, and rediscover their collective purpose was nothing short of inspiring. To the Office of Student Enrollment, thank you for trusting us to guide this important day. Your passion and commitment are truly remarkable, and we’re so grateful to have been a part of this journey with you. Special thanks to Trevonda Kelly, Chief Enrollment Officer, for calling upon us for the second year in a row to create something meaningful, and to Zibelia Tapia for working closely with us to plan the details of the day on such short notice. Never in a million years did I think I’d be delivering workshops to educators—and now they’ve asked me to create something for parents! My mind is completely blown. This experience has truly been one of my favorites. Our community is hungry for growth and development, and the engagement was beyond anything I could have hoped for. We laughed, we cried, and we learned so much together. The topic " A journey of Self-Awareness, Mindfulness, & Authentic Parenting created a safe space for us to be vulnerable. As someone who is a product of this community, this work fuels my passion in ways I can’t even put into words. Knowing I can offer a service that supports the growth and transformation of our people in this community is deeply personal and incredibly fulfilling. This workshop reminded me that the work I do extends far beyond organizations. The community needs coaching sessions too, and I’m so honored to be a part of this journey. I’m inspired by the innovative mindset of the Principals in NYC DOE and my client who brought this vision to life, involving me in his parent engagement initiatives.
