    Klaviyo made some huge announcements last night. I was fortunate to be in the room to get a first-hand look. TLDR: Klaviyo is putting Customer Relationship Management at the forefront of the platform's products + features beyond just the messaging functions it has built its reputation on. Details 👇 🔸 Klaviyo Marketing The messaging functions that Klaviyo has become known for, but with enhanced capabilities. With powerful insights from data that already lives in the platform (no additional integration needed) and new AI functions allowing for marketers to more effectively deliver personalized messages across email, SMS, mobile push and in-app notifications. 🔸 Klaviyo Service A new "Customer Hub" that will live on a brand's website and will feed functions like order tracking, wishlists, coupon storage and live chat along with the tools directly in the platform to properly communicate with customers on a one-to-one basis. 🔸 Klaviyo Analytics More intuitive reporting for all users along with deeper predictive capabilities, RFM modeling and funnel tracking for brands looking for enhanced functions. ❓ What's my take on what this means for marketers? Nearly every brand I talk to on some level is opting for consolidating their tech stack to, yes, save on cost, but also realize efficiencies in how they operate their business while giving customers a more seamless buying experience. These new updates from Klaviyo can help provide that. In beta testing some of these new functions the last few weeks, we're already starting to see the potential of how that can come to life. For example: Every action a user takes in the new Customer Hub (which is literally a one-click install) is logged as an event in Klaviyo. That event can be used to trigger flows to deliver personalized follow-up messaging to users. And there's a lot more after that. I'm excited to see the rollout of thew new functions.

    Proud to share that Zettler Digital has been recognized as a Shopify Plus Partner! Shopify recently introduced new tiering to its partner program, bringing together what was separately Shopify Partners (and Shopify Experts was already deprecated) and Shopify Plus Partners. These are programs we have been proud participants in for over a decade. There are fairly stringent requirements within the new tiered system and it's not lost on me that reaching this new tier is no small feat considering that we have (in relative terms) a small team. It's a testament to the hard work of many on our side over the years to make this happen. A special shout deserves to go to our friends at Shopify, including Tom Arehart, Jim Reynolds, Kanika Ray and so many other folks that have been integral parts of the growth of Zettler Digital and our ongoing partnership with Shopify since 2013.

    Shinola did it using Klaviyo. In 2024, for the first time, Shinola ran email and SMS promotions explicitly tied to BFCM. By focusing their promotional and brand emails on their most engaged customers, Shinola drove both growth and efficiency. Email revenue increased 22% YoY during BFCM, with revenue per recipient rising even more—up 48% YoY. "The drum I constantly beat is deliverability," says Ben Zettler, founder of Zettler Digital.     Klaviyo just conducted research that's uncovered some crucial trends shaping modern commerce heading into 2025: - 80% of consumers plan to increase spending. - 84% of consumers actively use brand mobile apps, but brands are still underinvesting in mobile commerce. - 66% of customers prefer purchasing in physical stores, yet 69% of retail revenue comes from brand ecommerce sites. Brands that can integrate physical and digital experiences together will win. ...and that's just a little taste.   • A recent survey of nearly 9,000 merchants using both Klaviyo and Recharge found that text messages do indeed drive purchases. Nearly 75% of consumers make a purchase after getting a text from a brand. While brands don't want to overwhelm customers, SMS is a channel that can have measurable sales impact when executed the right way.     The benefits of investing in your SMS marketing program are getting clearer every year. But, brands are still hesitant to embrace all that SMS can offer. Here are 6 proven SMS tactics to boost your program and increase profits: - Control Spending Use images sparingly, if at all. Do the same for emojis. And, stick to 160 characters or less. - A/B Test Everything Maybe sending a longer message or including rich media is worth the price. Find out. - Segment Properly Focus on engagement and intent. Don't "batch and blast" or send to your entire list. Don't send to users that recently placed an order. Exclude profiles with SMS errors. - Start with Transactional SMS and Automated Flows These types of messages are less likely to annoy someone if that's a concern and you can easily incorporate SMS touchpoints into your existing email flows. - Use SMS to Build Sales Hype Build excitement for an upcoming sale that you launch exclusively through SMS. It helps to increase engagement. - Consolidate Email and SMS on One Platform Reduce disorganization. Align communications and data. Stop overspending. A platform like Klaviyo can help you do that.

    "What do you do? How did get here?" I'm answering these questions multiple times a day. I was just on a meeting giving a new potential SaaS partner an overview of my background. It highlighted some details worth sharing, so here they are: - Started a business on Shopify in 2013 (store ~41,000 on Shopify). Acquired in 2018. - Ran digital marketing and ecommerce for Steiner Sports for 5 years - Consulted with brands and athletes before committing to Zettler Digital full-time in 2019 - Became a Shopify Plus Partner - Became a Klaviyo Elite Partner Today we've supported hundreds of merchants across three core service areas: - Website design/development/CRO - Email/SMS - Advertising In terms of how we can best partner with brands for the long haul, typically we work best with merchants that are in a $1 - 10 million+/year revenue range. But, we've done work with anyone from someone starting a business in their childhood bedroom like I did over 10 years ago to household brand names.
