ZwitterCo is on a mission to solve the world's most urgent water challenges. 💧🌎 In our latest video, CEO Alex Rappaport discusses the critical role water plays in the industries driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. However, as we continue to deplete our conventional water resources, these industries face significant challenges in accessing the vast amounts of purified water they need at a low cost. That's where ZwitterCo's breakthrough membrane technologies come in. By leveraging the power of zwitterions, we have developed fouling-resistant membranes that enable the treatment of the most challenging water and wastewaters. Our membranes have the fastest and easiest cleaning of any membrane in history, allowing for long-term operation in environments that would quickly destroy traditional membranes. With the $58.4 million Series B funding we announced this week https://lnkd.in/e_KBQpNU , we'll be able to accelerate the development and deployment of our complete filtration solutions, empowering industry leaders to solve their water and wastewater challenges and build a future of water abundance. We're excited to work together with our customers, investors, and partners to ensure safe, clean, and affordable water for generations to come. Check out the full video below to learn more about the importance of water in industry and how ZwitterCo is revolutionizing water treatment. #ZwitterCo #WaterInnovation #Sustainability #Decarbonization #SeriesB

💧 Tackling Algae and Wastewater Compliance Challenges with ZwitterCo Membranes 💧 A major agricultural processing facility in the U.S. was struggling with excessive algal growth in its lagoon-based wastewater system. Algae was causing elevated total suspended solids (TSS) levels, preventing discharge of treated wastewater throughout much of the year. Previous attempts at removing algae with other treatment technologies failed, having suffered from irreversible algae fouling. These issues threatened regulatory compliance and increased operational burdens, requiring a more sustainable and efficient solution. To address the challenge, the facility piloted ZwitterCo superfiltration (SF) membranes, specifically designed to repel organic fouling. Implemented in a crossflow system, the membranes effectively and continuously separated algae to achieve TSS requirements while maintaining stable performance and minimizing cleaning needs. The Impact: ✅100% Algae removal ✅Year-round discharge compliance ✅Sustainable wastewater operations By reducing fouling, ensuring compliance, and improving water reuse potential, ZwitterCo SF membranes provide a game-changing solution for lagoon wastewater treatment. With the pilot’s success, the facility is now moving toward commercial installation. Discover how we can transform your wastewater challenges—contact us today!

𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐞: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Two whey processing facilities were operating as usual—regular membrane cleaning cycles, chemical costs adding up, and normal membrane replacements due to wear and tear. It was the way things had always been. But when they switched to ZwitterCo’s zwitterionic process RO membranes, they found a simpler, lower-cost way to keep their systems running efficiently—without any CAPEX or system modifications. After installation, both facilities saw 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: ✅ Eliminated the most expensive cleaning step, significantly cutting chemical costs ✅ Reduced cleaning time by over an hour per day, freeing up operator resources ✅ Lowered cleaning temperatures, reducing energy use and improving sustainability By upgrading their membranes, these facilities streamlined their cleaning process, saved on operating costs, and improved system reliability—all without any additional investment in new equipment. A simpler, more cost-effective way to manage wastewater and protein concentration is possible. Ready to optimize your operations? Let’s talk ➡️ https://bit.ly/4baGb2m

This led to accelerated organic fouling in their RO system, forcing them into increased chemical cleanings and annual membrane replacements, far more often than expected for a conventional RO system. Concerned about unplanned downtime and escalating maintenance, the plant installed ZwitterCo’s advanced zwitterionic RO membranes alongside their existing system to compare performance and fouling resistance. Designed to repel organics and tackle surface water challenges such as biological growth and suspended solids, ZwitterCo membranes offered a resilient solution. Even under a severe coagulant overdose that severely impacted feedwater quality— forcing conventional membranes into frequent cleanings and performance decline—ZwitterCo’s membranes resisted fouling, maintained stable performance, and kept operations running smoothly. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕: ✔️ 70% Reduction in downtime from membrane cleaning ✔️ Only 2 cleanings in a year, compared to 7 for conventional membranes ✔️ Consistently high permeate flow and extended membrane life ZwitterCo RO membranes can help power plants achieve greater efficiency under even the toughest conditions.
