Friday Interesting Fact: Example of a really efficient energy-saving measure. We all know that New Year celebrations are different in different countries. Chinese New Year became very common. Besides it, there is a really interesting example - Balinese New Year: Nyepi According to the Balinese Saka calendar, Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that marks the New Year. Nyepi is a day of silence, fasting, and meditation. The intention is to dedicate an entire day to introspection and spiritual cleansing, and Four Nyepi Prohibitions observed for 24 hours: • Amati Geni (no fire or lights) • Amati Karya (no work) • Amati Lelulangan (no traveling) • Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment) You can imagine: The whole country goes into darkness. Without lights, people are prohibited from walking on the streets, and vehicles are not allowed for 24 hours. Airports are closed, the Internet is blocked (mobile Internet is blocked too by telecom operators), and police observe that people shouldn't leave their houses or have light in windows. On the other hand, Nyepi Day festivities contribute to reducing the impact of global warming by saving electricity consumption by up to 60%, equivalent to approximately 290 megawatts(IJICC). Furthermore, Nyepi celebrations can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 33%, lowering levels from 427 to 375 parts per million (ppm). It sounds wild, but it's the time when the whole island is cut off from civilization. There are also some other fascinating traditions and rituals associated with the Balinese New Year. Qu Yuan, a minister of the State of Chu, committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River after Chu was occupied by an enemy. The local people, to prevent the fish from eating his body, paddled their boats and threw rice balls (zongzi) into the river, giving rise to the current dragon boat races and the tradition of eating zongzi. 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: - Dragon Boat Races: Teams paddle long boats decorated with dragon heads and tails, competing to reach the finish line first. - Eating Zongzi: Glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, often filled with meat, beans, or dates. - Drinking Realgar Wine: A medicinal wine believed to ward off diseases and evil spirits. - Wearing Fragrant Pouches: Filled with aromatic herbs, these pouches are worn for protection against diseases. Iceland - Indeed the land of fire and ice 🌋🏔️😍 We saw 🌋 active volcanos 🌊waterfalls 🧊 glaciers ⛰️ craters 🖤 black beach 🧖 lagoons ⛲geysers 💚💙 Northern lights! ❤️ and so much more!! Now, you may wonder what's the big deal... The truth is the mindset of abundance and living life in full spectrum 🌈 A lot of people are under the assumption that you need a lot of money to travel and that taking your kids to travels is a lot of effort - when they cannot remember anything in the future. Now, that's an excuse we give ourselves. What is the purpose of our lives when we don't get to experience the wider world as we know it? What is the purpose of our life as parents, if we cannot help them experience and see the world through their own eyes? They may not remember every single detail but they will remember the experience. I remember my parents took us to Delhi a few times when we were young. I truly enjoyed going on 3-day train journeys, spending a lot of time as a family, and experiencing wonderful places and interaction with all kinds of people. I want rich experiences for my children that they can carry through their souls. Travelling is indeed an important part of our lives. ♥️ We need to get out of our comfort zone ♥️ experience the beyond ♥️ feel the goosebumps ♥️ be taken away from the ordinary ♥️ be blown away by the unknown ♥️ and feel ecstatic! Practising manifestation techniques plays an important part too. ☀️ The process of visualisation helping you dream bigger and bringing them to reality ☀️ The process of gratitude practise that helps you appreciate little things in life ☀️ The power of mindfulness that helps you enjoy the 'now' instead of looking at the pictures and remembering the past ☀️ Energy techniques that help you stay in full energy all day Manifestation is for life! Manifestation is a life skill that everyone needs to master. It's not a skill that you 'want' but a skill that you 'need'. ✍️ Let me know what you think in the comments below 👇 #iceland #manifestingtravel #manifestingdreamsintoreality

🌍 Embracing Nature: A Tribute on International Earth Day 🌿 Being grateful each day is indeed the most powerful habit we can cultivate. Today, on International Earth Day, I find myself overflowing with gratitude for the breath-taking beauty of Slovenian nature that surrounds me 🏞 In just five minutes, I can immerse myself in the tranquillity of the forest 🌲 🌳, where the symphony of birdsong 🕊 fills the air, deer 🦌 roam freely, and diligent ants go about their tasks 🤣. It's a priceless experience, one that I cherish every single day. For me, nature is not just a sanctuary; it's my lifeline. As the saying goes, "One walk in the woods a day drives the doctor away." 😍 This sentiment rings true for me, as I've experienced first-hand the profound impact of nature on my well-being. In over 25 years of working, I've only been on sick leave for a mere 14 days. The benefits of clearing my head in the forest each day are immeasurable: 🚀 My immune system thrives in the fresh air and green surroundings. 🚀 Anxiety dissipates like leaves in the wind, leaving me feeling calm and cantered. 🚀 A cascade of fresh ideas flows to me effortlessly, inspiring creativity and innovation. 🚀 Nature provides the perfect backdrop for problem-solving, allowing me to find solutions to obstacles with ease. 🚀 Mindfulness permeates my thoughts, sweeping away negativity and fostering a sense of peace and clarity. On this Earth Day, I encourage you to reflect on the beauty of nature around you and embrace its transformative power. What's your preferred way to relax and connect with the natural world? Share your thoughts below and let's celebrate the wonders of our planet together. 🌎💚 #EarthDay #Nature #Gratitude #Wellbeing

I need your opinion on this… In Japan, more people are moving to live in forests, and it’s really cool! Here’s why: 🌳 Health Benefits: Living near trees and nature helps people feel less stressed and happier. Fresh air and green trees are good for you! 🌱 Eco-Friendly: People living in forests try to take care of the Earth. They grow their own food and use things that don’t hurt the planet. 🍃 Close Communities: Forest neighborhoods are small and friendly. People know and help each other a lot. 🌿 Peace and Quiet: It’s really calm and quiet in the forest. No loud city noises, just nature sounds. This trend in Japan is inspiring. Could it happen in the West too? With more people caring about the planet and wanting a peaceful life, maybe forest living will become popular here too. What do you think? Would you like to live in a forest? 🌲😊 #ForestLiving #EcoFriendlyLife #NatureLovers #SustainableLiving #GreenLiving #HealthyLifestyle #PeacefulLiving #CommunityLiving #ForestHomes #ConcepysByJones

We underestimate the profound impact of rituals on our well-being. In the past, our ancestors integrated rituals into their everyday lives. We usually find ourselves distanced from these meaningful practices. However, travel presents a unique opportunity to discover and connect with these age-old traditions, sparking a sense of intrigue and a renewed motivation to explore. Rituals can ground us, foster connections, and serve as powerful catalysts for personal growth. They mark milestones, allow reflection and intention-setting, and guide us on our journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. The Balinese are known as a culture where rituals are practiced daily. One such ritual is the offering of 'Canang sari' to the gods. These small, square-shaped baskets from coconut leaves filled with flowers, rice, and other symbolic items represent gratitude and respect for the deities. While traveling in Bali last year, Candice was invited to participate in a traditional Agni Hotra fire blessing ceremony. This blessing allows one to offer negative thoughts or unwanted energy into the fire to be purified or transformed into more positive energy. The ceremony incorporates the Balinese bell, chants, and Sanskrit mantras to invoke the divine blessings of health and abundance. We invite you to journey with us and dive into a destination's cultural rituals. Join local rituals with respect and an open mind, and they may inspire you to establish your travel rituals, like daily journaling to reflect on your experiences, sunrise meditation to start your day with peace and clarity, or trying local foods to immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions. Incorporating rituals into our travel experiences deepens our understanding and appreciation of the local culture, creates meaningful connections, and fosters personal growth, leading to a more enriching and transformative travel experience. How do you incorporate rituals into your travels? Are you keen to learn more about a particular destination and their traditions? Share your thoughts below! #transformativejourneys #youarethedestination #Rituals #Wellbeing #Travel #CulturalImmersion

"Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life and travel leave marks on you " - Anthony Bourdain So much to unpack from my recent trip to Thailand. Rich in cultures, histories, foods, religions, adventures and the random connections with locals and strangers. Some journeys leaves you mesmerised and energised but also humbles you. This has been one such trip. Super grateful for all of my blessings. Sharing a snippet of a visit to the Maeklong Railway Market and the Damnoen Saduak Market. This has also been lesson in leadership for me.
