Job Title: Alternative Investments Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and analytical Alternative Investments Analyst to join our investment team specializing in alternative assets. The Alternative Investments Analyst will be responsible for conducting research, due diligence, and analysis on various alternative investment opportunities, such as private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate, and other alternative asset classes. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, knowledge of alternative investment strategies, and the ability to evaluate risk-return profiles effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze alternative investment opportunities across various asset classes, evaluating potential risks and returns.
  • Perform financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis to assess investment feasibility and performance.
  • Conduct due diligence on investment managers, funds, and direct investment opportunities, reviewing legal documents, financial statements, and investment strategies.
  • Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for senior management and investment committees.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and economic indicators impacting alternative investments.
  • Maintain and update investment databases, track performance metrics, and produce periodic performance reports.
  • Support portfolio management activities, including asset allocation, rebalancing, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (research, compliance, operations) and external advisors (investment consultants, legal counsel) to support investment decision-making and execution.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in alternative investments.

Skills Required

  • Strong financial analysis skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of alternative investment strategies, asset classes, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to conduct thorough due diligence and evaluate investment risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts clearly.
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for research and a commitment to continuous learning in the field of alternative investments.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA, MSF) or CFA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in alternative investments, investment banking, private equity, or a related field involving financial analysis and due diligence.
