Mission
The mission of the Credit Analyst is to evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants and evaluate adequacy of collateral. They evaluate the credit risk of potential borrowers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information, assessing factors such as cash flow, liquidity, leverage, and payment history. Additionally, they conduct industry and market analyses to understand the economic environment in which borrowers operate and collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and business requirements.
Key Results
Spread financial information and prepare a prescreen within 48 hours or receipt of Prescreen Checklist items
Achieve a minimum of 4 loans funded each quarter
Produce first draft of CAM for review within 10 business days of loan entering underwriting

Responsibilities
Carry out comprehensive analysis of each loan request, ensuring accuracy and reliability, with emphasis on the financial analysis of the applicants and the valuation of collateral.
Engage effectively with internal teams to ensure each loan request is underwritten within the defined time frames detailed in the service level agreement.
Engage with clients and the sales team proactively and independently to gather the information necessary to make an informed credit decision.
Determine and recommend loan structures that suit the given credit request.
Adhere to AVANA’s credit analysis standards as outlined in loan policy.
Draft and present clear credit analysis memorandums for each loan request to accurately capture the credit worthiness of the borrower and a comprehensive valuation of collateral, highlighting the strengths and risks of each request.
Conduct industry research and analysis to understand market trends and identify potential risks.
Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices to maintain compliance and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
Travel may be required for training purposes.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial lending, preferably with a focus in commercial real estate and hospitality
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with strong academic record
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key risk factors
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in data
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to articulate findings and recommendations effectively and concisely
Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-national environment
Ability to multi-task, solve problems and think quickly
Proactive and results focused
Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent technical decision-making skill
Willing to work US hours (i.e. IST 6:30 pm to 3:30 am)
