EVENTS DIRECTOR
We like Waterloo. We like Waterloo so much that we want to bring more people here, to fully Experience Waterloo (see what we did there).
The Best way to bring people here is through events – either through recruiting conference, meetings, reunions or tournaments to come to Waterloo, or by creating our own events and assisting other area festivals in their efforts to grow.
We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who can thrive in creative, empowered environments – driven by pride in our community
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
Develop & execute events aimed at bringing out-of-town visitors to Waterloo
Engage & recruit a core group of volunteers to help executive Experience Waterloo events, and help area events meet their volunteer needs
Coordinate with marketing team, local event facilities & community partners to attract conferences, meetings & reunions
Employs a creative sales approach to bring meetings, conventions, tradeshows & other events to Waterloo
Prepares customized bids to local, state, regional & national organizations to solicit their events
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Must have excellent oral & written communication skills
Must have good analytical & decision-making skills
Mist be able to work independently & multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate
Computer Literacy including basic applications of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
THE GROWN-UP DETAILS
Full-Time position
Pay range: $42,000 - $50,000 (commensurate with experience)
100% Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
4% annual retirement payment
