Responsibilities:


As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, the Vice President will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of media relations and internal communications strategies for Cantor and BGC Group. This role will work closely with and report to the Global Head of Corporate Communications, who is based in New York.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Developing and executing on strategic internal and external communications plans, aligned to support Cantor and BGC Group
  • Establishing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to proactively promote and protect the business
  • Developing and implementing internal communications across a wide range of topics, including new products/services, business initiatives, news hires, philanthropic initiatives, etc. to support of the firm’s employee engagement objectives, culture and business goals
  • Acting as an official media spokesperson on behalf of Cantor and BGC
  • Preparing senior executives for media interviews and external engagements, where appropriate
  • Establishing and maintaining consistent communication standards, ensuring uniform messaging across all internal and external channels
  • Supporting media monitoring, measurement and analyzing the firm's coverage and activities
  • Providing support to the Global Head of Corporate Communications related to crisis communications and issues management
  • Fostering a culture of creativity within the Corporate Communications team, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in public relations/corporate communications, with demonstrated success in media relations
  • Established relationships with reporters and editors at top tier publications and financial trade press
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and support individuals at all levels across an organization, including senior leadership
  • Experience working on complex issues and navigating crisis communications
  • Ability to thrive, multi-task, and be flexible in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with robust project management and process development skills


Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communications


Salary: $130k - $150k


The expected base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $150,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
