Accept, breathe, choose

- The practices that we've been doing in this course are meant to be repeated over and over and over again so that we can embody these skills as a way of being so that we step onto a path where we're consistently cultivating our IIQ. Now, to do that, what I believe we really need is something that we can go back to again and again, because remember, the key is practice. The key is training yourself. Several years ago, I was creating a program for children, and I was thinking, how could I condense this in a way that they could remember it? And I thought about using the acronym ABC. Kids know what ABCs are. It's one of the first things you do. And then what dawned on me, of course, is that, what am I doing? When we adults are stressed out, when we're triggered, we can't remember anything either. So our ability in that moment to remember anything complex goes right out the window.
