Movember is here, and it's time to put men's health in the spotlight! This global campaign encourages people to raise awareness and funds for critical men’s health issues, including mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Research shows that men are, on average, dying 4.5 years earlier than women, often from preventable causes. Globally, around 10.8 million men are living with prostate cancer, and testicular cancer remains the most common cancer among young men. By engaging with the cause, we can contribute to essential conversations and initiatives that aim to improve men's health outcomes. Join 18WS in amplifying Movember's message: promoting awareness, encouraging preventive care, and providing support for men’s health, both inside and outside the workplace. Movember Reigns #2 "Why does men’s health matter? Well, men are often less likely to talk about their health or seek help, even when they need it. This silence can have serious consequences, especially when it comes to conditions like prostate and testicular cancers, which are some of the most common for men. Early detection is key, but it only happens if we’re aware and proactive. That’s where raising awareness comes in—by talking openly about these issues, we can break down barriers, encourage early screenings, and ultimately save lives. This Movember, let’s make men’s health a priority by starting those conversations and helping more men take action." #Movember #InCreMental #EarlyDetection #MensHealth #BeAware #BeProactive

Brothers ♂️ ♂️ November is #Movember which is synonymous with #MensHealthAwarenessMonth. ♂️ The primary message here is that men are dying much earlier due to preventable health issues. ♂️ Movember is an important time for men's health to raise awareness on vital issues such as: 📌 prostate cancer- the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. 📌 mental health- depression and suicide rates are high. 📌 testicular cancer- the most common cancer in men aged 15-44. 🗣️ The whole essence is to help break down barriers and stigma supporting these conversations. 📌 DYK? A recent study by #Gillette revealed these alarming stats: ➡️ 75% men put off going to the doctor while showing signs of illness? ➡️ 38% men do not think it is important? ➡️ 25% men say they have no time? 📌 From awareness, comes engagement, and if enough people are engaged and stay engaged, we can, each of us, help save lives. Cancer Convos with Grace B. is: ♂️ relentlessly giving men the facts. ♂️ ensuring they change their behaviors for the better. ♂️ tirelessly listening to the men in our community and advocating for them. ♂️ encouraging them to also advocate for themselves. ♂️ ensuring that our spouses, partners, brothers, sisters, friends, and colleagues help drive the message across of going for the necessary health check-ups. 📣 Will you join us in taking action by spreading the word as strong allies? #cancerconvoswithgraceb #Movember2024 #menshealthawareness #menshealthawarenessmonth #MensMentalHealthMattersToo #prostatecancerawareness #testicularcancer #healthadvocate

Cancer & Critical Illnesses: A Shared Reality We often think these challenges happen to others, until they touch us, a loved one, or a peer. Whether you’re directly affected, a caregiver, or know someone who has faced such illnesses, it impacts us all. Participating in this shooting was a profoundly moving experience, filled with deep emotions. It was a powerful reminder that behind the statistics and numbers, there are real people. Indeed many of us have been directly or indirectly touched by these illnesses. When Cancer or Critical Illness affects your life, the last thing you should be worrying about is work. This October, we’re celebrating Cancer & Work: Acting Together - our 360° global benefit, offering physical, mental, financial, and social support to all of us through the toughest of times. 🌸October is #BreastCancerAwareness Month 🌸 Raising awareness and encouraging proactive health measures are crucial in the fight against breast cancer, helping to build a stronger, more informed community. This week, the Design and Civil team hosted a session on #BreastCancerAwareness, which saw an excellent turnout. Colleagues donned their best pink outfits, and we gained valuable insights from Marisa Cornacchia BA, RN, COHN(C), DOHS, MBA, DOMP's informative presentation. Key Takeaways from the Workplace Medical Corp. Presentation: ➡ Important Statistics: One in eight women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, making it the most common type of cancer among women. ➡ Early Detection Saves Lives: The session emphasized the importance of regular screening and early detection, which can improve survival rates by up to 90%. ➡ Healthy Lifestyle: Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, reduced alcohol intake, regular exercise, and abstaining from smoking, was highlighted as a significant factor in reducing cancer risk. We extend our gratitude to everyone who took time out of their day to attend and participate. Let us continue to support and raise awareness for this critical cause.
