Since 1997, I've been through several professional transitions and since 2003, I've also supported several people in their transitions. I agree with Steve Jobs stories that the most important things are : 1. Keep identifying what you LOVE ❤️ to do, what provides you ENERGY⚡️! 2. Keep being FAITHFUL 😌 that you will understand later why everything happened as it did! 3. Keep doing what you would love to do as if it were your last day! His 3 mythical stories at Stanford University are perfectly aligned with his HD and GK profiles. For those who are not aligned with what you love to do and you would like to have a holistic support in being aligned with your inner talents, let’s connect for a 15 minutes Zoom to discover how I could help! #ThursdayGems This quote serves as a powerful reminder of the necessity for innovation in our educational practices. Currently, we face a potential threat: the dismantling of the Department of Education. This department plays a critical role in ensuring equitable access to quality education, supporting teachers, and fostering innovation. Without it, we risk losing vital resources and protections that help our students thrive in an ever-changing world. As educational leaders, it is imperative that we advocate for a strong Department of Education that upholds our commitment to preparing students for the future. Let’s unite to challenge the status quo and ensure our educational systems empower students to become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow. Together, we can shape a brighter future for education! 🌍✨ #DefendEducation #EducationalLeadership #Innovation #FutureOfEducation

SEA research leads can help make evidence work for students when they are empowered by: ✳️ Cross-state peer networks; ✳️ A culture of learning within their agency; ✳️ Proximity to students, teachers and families; and ✳️ A robust data infrastructure that includes both cross-sector, longitudinal data AND the human capacity to make sense of it all. Thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Jeni Corn to write about one of my favorite topics and I'm grateful to the Alliance for Learning Innovation (ALI) for their advocacy for a stronger education R&D infrastructure at the federal, state and local levels. Check out our new guest blog post below! ⬇️
In a new guest blog post on ALI Insights, Heather Boughton, Director of Education Policy Implementation at Results for America, and Jeni Corn, Director of Impact Evaluation and Strategy at NC Collaboratory at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, discuss four key elements SEA research leads need to make evidence work for students. These learnings were informed by an informal SEA Research Workgroup that has convened for the past 3 years, and highlight the importance of prioritizing strong leadership, dedicated staff, robust infrastructure, and a culture of innovation. The future of Leadership 🤔 What are your assumptions about the future? What’s possible? What’s desirable? Is there any wild twist in your mind? 🌪️🌀? Thank you Stefan Bergheim for opening up this path for me 🗺️🙏! It was great fun and very inspiring! My personal takeaways (at least the top 3 😄): 🔹Co-creation beats it all! You think your ideas are great? So are those of others, put them together and smash all boundaries! 🔹 A process is helpful - especially in the roams of Innovation and creativity. Not only because creativity is also to be trained like a muscle 💪 🔹 The future is most often imagined quite positive - no matter what happens at the moment, hope and our power to make a difference succeed 🏆 And of course there are many takeaways regarding the actual future of leadership… but in fact we’re the ones to do our best to make it happen 😉🎉… #futuresliteracy #futureofleadership #bethechange #transformation #innovation
It was an amazing Futures Literacy Laboratory online last Friday on the “Futures of #Leadership”. The mind-travel into individual desirable futures already brought up an unusually wide spectrum of different images and the models behind them. The creation of alternative futures of leadership took the discussion further into some really weird futures that inspired even deeper thinking and connections. 🛍️ Take-homes are highly individual in these open laboratories. I found the questions raised about the audience of leadership, the relationship between leadership and time, and the ones about the balance between diversity and unity most inspiring and powerful. 🎉 Thank you Sebastian Baumann, Elisabeth Spitzenberger, Deborah W.A. Foulkes, Tim Heiler, Katerina Ciampi Stancova, Caroline Mielanczyk, and Robbie Spofford for making this lab such a rich experience - and Anke Meyer-Grashorn, Vlad Glaveanu et al for having recommended this! #futuresliteracy

How does your school carve its unique niche in competitive school markets where standing out is more crucial than ever? So often, the playbook calls for us to look at the competition to launch similar programs or mirror tactics, but is that always the right approach, or is there a different strategy? Does it make more sense to focus on what makes your school unique to stand out in a crowded market? That's one of the takeaways in Tom Olverson's new book, Leading through Strategy: How Business Principles Can Help Independent Schools Thrive. Tom sat for a case study interview where we talked about differentiation and strategic positioning. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eQ-dq7r3 Through our conversation, several takeaways emerged: ➡️ Strategic Differentiation: Many schools must avoid echoing their peers' strategic moves, diluting their unique value propositions. Tom emphasizes the critical need for schools to forge their paths based on their authentic strengths and aspirations. ➡️ The Power of Marketing Lens: Strategic planning should be viewed through a marketing lens identifying your school's unique market position and owning it. It's about understanding and addressing the market's specific needs and preferences of your school community, not just mirroring external trends. ➡️ Embracing Calculated Risks: Tom shares the importance of integrating risk into your strategic planning for breakthrough growth. Step out of your comfort zone with strategies that defy the status quo and ignite innovation. ➡️ Faculty-Led Innovation: Engaging the entire school community in the strategic process fosters alignment and buy-in. Tom's method of presenting strategic identities for community selection exemplifies how shared decision-making can clarify and strengthen a school's direction. I highly encourage you to watch the full interview. No question it's worth your time.
