I'm starting a new thing and calling it 'Tennis Tuesdays'. This week: "Losers find excuses and winners find a way". So some of you may know - tennis is a real personal passion of mine. Both watching and playing. The above is a quote from one of my favourite players - Casper Ruud. I love this quote as it really can be applied to business and startup life. Keep hustling. Don't make excuses. - One phone call could connect you with a new client. - One cold email might introduce you to a new investor. - One LinkedIn message could spark a new partnership. Seize the opportunity. The worst-case scenario? Silence #hustle #winners #motivation #startups #founders

What have I learnt from my racing journey to a VC Entrepreneur? Move fast and break things! This principle has been a cornerstone of my success. Make quick decisions, embrace the chaos, and get good at fixing problems on the fly. This approach, inspired by Silicon Valley's success stories, is something that brought me many wins in racing, and is now an approach that we're adopting at Rosberg Ventures. At Rosberg Ventures, we're bridging the gap between Germany's top family-owned companies and leading startups from the US and Europe. Our fund of funds is growing rapidly, and it's incredibly exciting to be part of this dynamic ecosystem. I’m often asked about the crucial lessons that I learnt from Formula 1 that I apply to business, and another one of those principles is focus. In a competitive environment, there will always be talented individuals with similar ideas. But you can outdo them with discipline and a clear focus on your mission. During my World Championship run, I eliminated distractions, stopped reading the news, and deleted social media from my phone. This razor-sharp focus was key to my success, and it's something I'm implementing again now. Take my championship win for example. It was decided in the last corner of the last race. My engineer told me that if I didn’t overtake Verstappen, I would lose. Despite being far back, I dive-bombed into the hairpin, went wheel to wheel, and when he got ahead, I had to overtake him again. My leg was literally bouncing on the throttle with fear in that moment, but I managed to make it to the straight and put my foot flat on the accelerator, and the rest is history. That moment taught me that focus and preparation in terms of mental strength are essential for success, whether in Sports or in Business. How do you ensure focus in your business endeavors? Test and fail, but do it fast! This is one of the principles I have learned throughout my experience. The faster you test the faster you will fulfil what the customer is looking for and also the faster one would learn about the customers' pain points one is trying the solve. This is a methodology that I have learned along with the ,,Innovator's Method'' to develop software and which is used by the biggest companies around the world. Check the upcoming articles I will explain in detail what is this all about. #designthinking #innovation #innovatorsmethod #entrepreneurship

🚣♂️ Exploring the Start-up Journey Through Olympic Sports In the world of start-ups repetition, strategy, agility, and resilience are paramount. It is somewhat analogous to Olympic sports. Here's an example: I'll explain how Canoe Slalom mirrors the start-up experience. - In Canoe Slalom, you're propelled forward by current => this is like the market forces in business. - Movement is inevitable => yet not always straightforward and sometimes you have to move against the tides. - Sometimes, to navigate effectively, you might find yourself paddling backwards, reversing, riding a wave or taking unconventional routes. - Missed a gate? That's a lost client, broken partnership, any setbacks or bad decision in business. But penalties aren't always fatal so long as you recalibrate and stay on course. 🥇 🤔 What's the Olympic sporting analogy for start-ups you've heard or conceived? #StartUps #Olympics #Entrepreneurship #BusinessStrategy #CanoeSlalom

what do successful startups and this year's Stanley Cup champs, the Florida Panthers, have in common? 3 things: 1. strong, clearly defined systems 2. team-wide buy-in to those systems (a.k.a. STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT) 3. consistent, disciplined execution of those systems (ignore games 4-6 for the sake of my argument please 😂) if you want your startup to be like the Florida Panthers, shoot me a DM. it's never too early to build the systems that will lead you to success.
