A recent third-party survey revealed that 50% of older adults, who do not yet require in-home care, need assistance just a few times a week. This is consistent with what we see at Naborforce. Our average client uses us just a couple of times per week for an hour or two. That small amount of assistance and social engagement is all it takes to help a senior stay connected and in the home they love while providing a small break and peace of mind for their families. We are bridging the gap between those needing minimal help -- where family can easily step in -- and those who require regular, daily assistance, which is best served by traditional home care. #independentaging #agetech #aginginplace #familycaregiving

Parenting is both rewarding and challenging and brings significant physical, emotional, and financial demands. Today, 53 million people provide uncompensated care for persons with disabilities or older adults. Unpaid caregiving of young children, especially by mothers and other family members, is even more common. The impact: Many who do this essential work experience severe economic hardship and insecurity because policymakers have ignored or deprecated caregiving. Learn more: Earlier this year, CSSP held a webinar along with Global Women’s Strike and Women of Color/GWS. The webinar brought together grassroots campaigners, policy analysts, and caregivers to discuss policy options for compensating caregivers to ensure their essential labor is respected and rewarded. Recent studies estimate that close to 30% of households in the US are caring for a child with additional needs. This article by SHRM explains how employers can support employees with disabled or chronically ill children. Though first published in 2005, the principles and guidance in this article ring just as true today; the needs of children impact all working parents, but for parents of children with additional needs, the intensity of those requirements is significantly heightened. If you want to learn more about how you can support your employees in this situation, please get in touch!
