Before most folks log off for the #holidaybreak of the next two weeks, here's a friendly reminder: Be kind 💝 Those on the job hunt, like yours truly, are likely dealing with a LOT of anxiety and worry as they enter the holiday season without a reliable source of income. It is INCREDIBLY stressful! 🫠 So, rather than ask your loved one if they have "tried networking" or "would take on a retail job" — just listen. It will probably open your eyes more than you know! Happy holidays folks, and hope you enjoy your time off, as much as possible! #jobsearch #jobsearching #freelancing #unemployment

The holiday season is upon us, apparently it's summer here in the UK 🤔 Over the next two months, many of us will take time off. During this period, it's important to switch off completely and truly take a break! ☀️ Things to Avoid: 📨"Keeping an Eye" on Emails: There's no such thing as an urgent email. If it's truly urgent, you'll get a call. Set up email forwarding to a colleague while you're away. 🔗LinkedIn: Delete the app from your phone. You don't need it. 📚Business Books: Read non-business-related books. If you're reading about business, you're thinking about work. 📱Your Phone: Leave your phone in the hotel room. If you don't need it, leave it. Be present with those around you. A few hours without your phone won't harm you. Delegate tasks before you leave. It's crucial to lead by example and demonstrate to your team the importance of taking time away from work. Give your team the chance to step up in your absence. Communicate that you want to switch off as much as possible and to only reach out if it's urgent. Are you taking a break this summer? 🌴 #summertime #holidays

To my fellow #jobseekers: Prepare yourself for the upcoming holiday season. This is just not a great time to be on the hunt. Holiday parties, end-of-year crunches, vacation time, etc., mean that recruiters or hiring managers may not have you at the top of their priority list for several weeks. And for those of us who anxiously refresh our email inbox constantly throughout the day, this can be concerning. Is it frustrating? Yes. Will stressing out about it help? No. Continue to work your #jobsearch, but enjoy what you can of the holidays. Wishing you all the best of luck with a Q4 miracle or a positive perspective going into Q1. #commsjobs #jobs #hiring
