Mapping the evidence on climate, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Climate change and biodiversity loss are interconnected crises disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income countries. To support evidence-informed action, 3ie has developed a comprehensive evidence gap map with support from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. With over 1600 studies, this is the first map to rigorously evaluate the effects of interventions across land, forests, agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, fisheries, coasts, and oceans. This is one of the pieces we've been working on this year where the evidence trends are as interesting as the evidence gaps - what do you think?

Ascertaining the ecological health of the mine environment is very essential in order to preserve biodiversity and ensure that food security is prioritized. Being an expert in Aquaculture and Fisheries, my concern is to understand the quality of water which entails much about aquatic life in that environment. There is so much said negatively about Aquaculture, yet the science and data say otherwise. How does the sector use what is real, measured and proven to shut down the noise from those that have an agenda but no foundation for their actions. The Governments, Corporations and retailers need to stop sitting on the fence and nail their flags to mast. Fish Farms cannot fight these battles alone, face the challenges, bear the costs face the closures whilst those who want our fish keep reaping the rewards. As one of the most sustainable producers of protein, healthy fish and as conservationists at heart we have a huge role to play in food security, nutrition, protecting biodiversity our oceans, rivers. We build communities, because they are our livelihoods, our futures. NO AQUACULTURE, NO FISH.
