#Migration shapes our world in countless ways, but irregular migration often exposes individuals to significant risks and vulnerabilities. At 3ie, in partnership with the IOM - UN Migration, we’ve developed an Evidence Gap Map to identify what works—and where evidence is missing—to address irregular migration effectively. 🔍 Key insights from the brief: ✅ Limited evidence exists on interventions that reduce risks and improve the well-being of migrants. ✅ Programs targeting irregular migration often lack rigorous evaluation. ✅ Filling these gaps is crucial for creating policies that protect migrants and foster safe, dignified migration pathways. 📘 Dive into the findings here: https://lnkd.in/gGhEvYQF Let’s commit to building a world where migration is safe, inclusive, and supported by robust evidence. #InternationalMigrantsDay #MigrationMatters #EvidenceForImpact #SustainableDevelopment #IMD2024

New Blog | Our largest-ever systematic review on #Marketaccess interventions that examines the evidence from 289 impact evaluations across 53 countries shows how interventions like improved #transport #infrastructure, contract #farming and market information systems can enhance agricultural productivity, income, and food security. Market access interventions have been a key strategy for improving livelihoods and reducing #poverty among #smallholder #farmers in low- and middle-income countries. The review also highlights gaps in research, such as limited evidence on long-term impacts, #nutrition outcomes, and value-for-money assessments. Last week we launched the #Anaemia #EvidenceGapMap (EGM)—a transformative resource for tackling one of the most pressing global health challenges. Together with Nutrition International and supported by the Government of #Canada, we’re paving the way for #evidence-informed solutions that address anaemia’s root causes and impacts. ✨ Highlights of the EGM: ✅ Identifies critical knowledge gaps for targeted research. ✅ Guides strategic investments in impactful interventions. ✅ Empowers policymakers with actionable, evidence-based insights. 🔗 Here are the links: 💻 Access the EGM: https://lnkd.in/gD4ddBqb 📰 View the press release: https://lnkd.in/gTtSRmmG 📺 : Watch the launch webinar recording: https://lnkd.in/gnBY4Cre World Health Organization Anaemia Action Alliance Anaemia Community Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) UNICEF India UNICEF

Mapping the evidence on climate, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Climate change and biodiversity loss are interconnected crises disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income countries. To support evidence-informed action, 3ie has developed a comprehensive evidence gap map with support from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. With over 1600 studies, this is the first map to rigorously evaluate the effects of interventions across land, forests, agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, fisheries, coasts, and oceans. Marie Gaarder, Executive Director at 3ie, and Andy Hinsley, Senior Economist in the Economic Growth Research Team at Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, have authored a blog reflecting on efforts to advance the use of evidence in policymaking. Over the past nine months, 3ie and FCDO have collaborated with policymakers, academics, and practitioners to identify critical gaps in how evidence informs decisions. This work includes a systematic review with the Pan-African Collective for Evidence and lays the groundwork for a new research programme addressing these gaps. Join us for an Early Market Engagement session introducing the evidence on evidence use programme. The session will provide details on the scope, objectives, and application process, as well as an opportunity to connect with potential research and delivery partners. Anaemia affects 1 in 4 people globally, limiting health, cognitive development, and productivity, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Tackling this complex challenge requires evidence informed strategies targeting nutritional and non-nutritional causes. Join us for an exclusive webinar hosted by Nutrition International and 3ie to explore the new Anaemia Evidence Gap Map (EGM). Developed with support from the Government of Canada, the EGM highlights key interventions and identifies critical research gaps in addressing the nutritional and non-nutritional causes of anaemia with over 2,200 impact evaluations and 57 systematic reviews.
