🎉Amazing news!🎉The National Trust have voted overwhelmingly in favour of making their menus 50% plant-based, at its over 300 cafes around the UK, as part of its efforts to become net zero by 2030. The National Trust manages over 500 heritage and nature sites across the UK. This is a great move - currently it's far more difficult to choose to eat healthy sustainable plant-based foods - making more/better choices helps incentivise more people to choose healthy more sustainable diets. After lots of right-wing tabloids claimed there'd been a huge backlash to this proposal, the vote sailed through with a huge majority - 57,498 members voting in favour, compared to 20,111 against. Other companies who have supported a shift to 50% of their menu being plant-based include Sodexo Campus, Burger King, Wagamama, and IKEA. Will other companies follow? We need more action on diets and faster! Read more: https://lnkd.in/eTMwe76c #food #meat #plantbased #lessandbettermeat #climatechange #climatecrisis #biglivestock #defundbiglivestock
