𝐌𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 I had an amazing time last month, learning from Seun Olagunju-Lana a global development practitioner and the founder of the development school of Africa (tdsafrica.org). Maximizing Impact through non-profit simply means to make strategic efforts to achieve a great positive influence on society or for a cause. For any social impact project to achieve the proposed impact, it has to tick some boxes. You have to understand what the problem really is, whether it is a social or economic problem or otherwise, to determine the best approach to solving it. The goal of social impact work/project is not to create more problems rather it is to get to the root of a problem to bring about sustainable solutions. Having passion for a project is great, but make sure you use a 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 for a sustainable and impactful social change. Maximizing Impact through non-profit isn't just about doing more, it's about doing better and creating a meaningful change in the world 🌍💡. Thank you ma Seun Olagunju-Lana for an impactful time with you. Thank you also Paul Oyewusi, PHRi SFC and every other team from HGH for the Career bootcamp. God bless you all💓. How do you think we can work for sustainable social impact projects? #livethrivegive #summerofnations #contentwriting #socialimpact #entrepreneurship #personaldevelopment #creativity

Today, I attended a dynamic panel discussion hosted by the India Partner Network, where three remarkable NGOs, Anudip Foundation, OSCAR Foundation, and Sabuj Sangha shared their inspiring success stories. Here's a snapshot of my 5 key takeaways on effective fundraising strategy from the session. 1. Strategic Donor Outreach - Working out comprehensive measurable impact metrics for pitching and utilizing networking tools is vital. 2. Building Internal Capacity - A dedicated fundraising team, regular SWOT analysis, refined HR processes, and long-term planning (e.g., a 5-year plan) are crucial for strengthening an NGO's internal capacity. 3. Engaging and Retaining Donors - Regular engagements, such as meeting donors and inviting them to see the work firsthand, significantly boost donor retention. 4. Role of Volunteers and Technology - Volunteers play a vital role in fundraising and operational support, along with networking being pivotal to fundraising. Employing technologies for project and donor management ensures smooth operations. 5. Networking and Partnerships - Active participation in networking events is crucial and helps in identifying potential collaborators. Feeling inspired and motivated to apply these insights in my work. Kudos to all the panelists for sharing their expertise and experiences! Anudip Foundation Sabuj Sangha OSCAR Foundation Share insights on what your thoughts are on an effective fundraising approach. As the Christmas season of giving approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the values of generosity and compassion. For me, there’s no better reminder of the true spirit of giving than the inspiring example set by Mr. Shiv Nadar, India's leading philanthropist. Growing up, I’ve always heard stories about Mr. Shiv Nadar — a hero who made an indelible mark on the world, despite his humble beginnings. His journey from a small village in Tamil Nadu to becoming the founder of #HCLTech is nothing short of inspiring. But beyond the success in business, it’s his unwavering commitment to giving back to society that truly resonates with me. Mr. Shiv Nadar often speaks about how education transformed his own life — he was able to pursue his dreams, thanks to the generosity of philanthropists who supported his education. And it’s this very belief in the power of education that fuels his incredible philanthropic journey today. Through the Vidyagyan initiative, Mr. Nadar is providing world-class education to children from rural Uttar Pradesh, opening doors to opportunities that were previously unimaginable for them. This school is not just about academics — it’s about creating future leaders who will go on to make a difference in their communities and the world. Vidyagyan stands as a testament to Mr. Nadar’s philosophy: that true leadership comes from education, and that leadership can change the future. What stands out to me is not just Mr. Nadar’s initial success, but his dedication to sustaining the very values that shaped his life. Giving back what you value the most — in his case, education — is a powerful way to create a lasting impact. Through his foundation, he ensures that future generations have the same opportunities that once transformed his life, continuing a cycle of generosity and opportunity that will ripple through society for years to come. Mr. Shiv Nadar’s legacy isn’t just about what he has achieved; it’s about what he’s giving back and how he’s ensuring that the values he holds dear — education, opportunity, leadership — continue to uplift others, just as he was uplifted. #SuperchargingProgress #HCLFoundation #VidyaGyan #ShivNadarFoundation

Did you know that if India’s HNIs contributed just 5% of their annual incremental wealth, that would unlock ₹75,000 crore for social good? This amount is a staggering five times what Indian companies spent on CSR in FY2023. Imagine the support it could provide to NGOs, creating a profound social impact. In his article on Indiatimes, our Chairperson Govind Iyer delves into the importance of flexible funding as a catalyst for India’s development. Here are some key takeaways for philanthropists: ➡ Embrace flexible funding to help NGOs adapt to emerging challenges ➡ Prioritize long-term, sustainable projects ➡ Foster impactful collaborations ➡ Invest in testing new approaches and pilot innovative programs Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dvNwfegD To know how SVP India can support your giving journey, write to us at info@svpindia.in #SVPIndia #EngagedPhilanthropy #FlexibleFunding #HNIs #SocialImpact #India

Thinking about how to collaborate with the government and markets to drive improvement through philanthropy is essential. The emerging model involves demonstrating proof of concept through pilots, building evidence that a solution works, and then advocating for broader adoption. This means working on both policy formulation and its implementation. Given India's state capacity, providing sustained support for 5-10 years and maintaining a long-term commitment is critical. Even with sound policies, iteration and refinement are necessary as progress is made. Moreover, I began to consider that an even higher ROI could be achieved by contributing to India's rapid and sustained economic growth, ensuring it is inclusive and offers equal opportunities. If India can maintain an 8% annual growth rate over the next 25 years, aligning with the Viksit Bharat vision, it has the potential to become a developed nation by 2047. This approach, focused on supporting accelerated economic growth, offers perhaps the highest ROI in the long run. Watch Ashish Dhawan, Founder-CEO of The Convergence Foundation, join Rahul Ahluwalia, Founding Director of the Foundation For Economic Development, for an insightful conversation on the evolution of his philanthropic priorities.
