How to Use Trees to Enhance Wildlife Habitats! Managing trees to support local wildlife can greatly improve biodiversity and ecosystem health. 🌳 Planting native trees that produce nuts, berries, and leaves provides essential food for animals. Installing birdhouses and feeders attracts birds, while maintaining layered vegetation from ground level to the canopy offers shelter and nesting spaces. Even preserving dead trees can create critical habitats for numerous species. Want to transform your landscape into a thriving wildlife habitat? Restoring natural forest with native or endemic species - after identifying the right areas or ecosystem with the best types of trees to replant. Also take into consideration the different levels of tree distribution and species for the understory layer, middle layer and canopy layer. Same age and height trees in a forest, doesn't give a good end result.

The best way to manage our forests is through co-management. When the public is involved in managing the health of an ecosystem, a sense of community is born. However, when the industry has full control over the forestry sector, it leaves the public with a knowledge gap. How will we know what is going on? What is working? What isn't? We have to be there, be present, be involved. Public consultation is available and public action is possible, but public co-management is minimally an option. Having volunteer-based redemption projects in conjunction with conservation authorities and the forestry industry would promote community, skill growth, self-confidence, confidence in the industry, accountability in the industry, and many more benefits. I think people would love to get involved. Would you? #sustainablecommunities #engagement #forestry #sustainableforestry #ecology
