It's all about the AdTech revenue - that's the word on the lips of most industry analysts - since we've seen the collapse of the totemic SVOD model, and with ad tiers on most major SVOD platforms now, the industry pivots towards the highly desirable 'sunlit uplands' of the world of addressable advertising. And it's not just the OTT and broadcast markets; now device manufacturers, who are able to capture data at the point of consumption, from within their own ecosystem are looking to get in on the act too. Addressable advertising promises advertisers the ability to deliver relevant messages to desired audiences based on available data. This approach is key to reaching and gauging the effectiveness of online ad spaces, and in driving engagement and ad relevance. In an industry reeling from the shock of greatly reduced profitability, and audience churn - regular and highly profitable revenue is now the order of play.
