I would add to this, try to start composting which can cut the carbon emissions of food waste by up to 50%. Just put peelings and tea bags in a paper bag and empty it once a week, leave for a few weeks, then use in your garden or window boxes. The UK's 6.4 million tonnes of food waste every year produces 18 million tonnes of CO2 and only 3% gets composted. Can you help by composting in your household?
